There's no "one weird trick" for glyphing. There's just practice.
You can use apps like this one for low-stakes practice, but so far as I know, none of them are up to date with all the glyphs and sequences.

As others have mentioned, practice makes permanent. Learn the right names for the glyphs, even if you have to say them out loud to yourself. After enough times, you'll have it in muscle memory. No brain work required :)
There are apps to help you learn if you don't have any handy portals to practice on. I've linked them below.
iOS: link, severely outdated glyphs
Android: link
This is the most like the game but it's not as smooth https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.org.example.geckour.glyph
This one runs smoother and is more user friendly https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alsantsu.memoglyph
There are several apps to help learn. The one that worked for me is now called "Glyph [REDACTED]" which matches the original Ingress glyphing quite well and can be set to give you particular sequence lengths so you can start with single glyphs and work up to 5 at a time.
Howdy! I started about a month and a half ago and was proud to earn my Gold Translator after just 20 days.
First and foremost: Learn the meanings! Don't make up your own. As you've probably already heard, the sequences will form little sayings and sentences that you'll start to become familiar with and memorize over time.
I used this website for rote memorization of meanings. Not all the newer glyphs are on there but this will give a solid foundation. I put in two or three hours a day on here my first week.

As you start to become familiar with the meanings, practice, practice, practice. Say the meaning while you trace both when it's shown to you and when you trace it back.
This Github tool was my primary source of practice early on:

Check out the following Android apps for practice:
>Glyph [REDACTED] (my favorite -- seems to be based on the above github code)

>Memo Glyph

>Glypher
I'm lucky enough to have a well-protected L8 farm by my house which I hit daily for practice and still hit daily for farming. After a week of intensive practice I was able to get over 500 glyph points per hour at this farm. Good luck and don't give up! It's overwhelming at first but if you're willing to put in the time upfront it becomes second nature very quickly.
Here's my response to a similar thread posted a couple days ago:

Yes, several. One surpringly is called "Glyph" .

I had a preference for Glyph while I was learning them
I see it as a good crutch until until you start learning some of the sequences, to convince teammates that glyphing is worth while.
For actually learning the glyphs, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.org.example.geckour.glyph Is a better simulation approach which tells you the names in advance so you have a better chance of remembering/learning them.
Anyone who is actually good at glyphing can out perform the use of the apps.
