Google Arts & Culture VR (Daydream exclusive?)
I have used one Daydream app, Google Arts & Culture VR, on my Oneplus One, which has a Snapdragon 801. I haven't used other apps at this point because this is the only one I found that... forgets to check for completion of the Daydream setup, which involves compulsory input of some personal data I didn't want to provide.
But the Daydream platform's specs do list beefier hardware so, let me make this very clear, there is no guarantee that you will be able to use any specific Daydream app on a non-compatible phone. Some will work, some won't, depending on the specific GPU features they use, etc... just like some Cardboard apps won't currently work on lower-end phones.
The Daydream specification is more of a way to create a hardware standard over what used to be the Cardboard SDK (plus the goodies like the controller and more polished "VR launcher" app) than anything else.
