GoPros can connect to your phone via WiFi and you can take pictures, record video, etc. without needing to be next to the actual device.
I've used a gopro before, I know you can get an app on your phone to see what it sees. I'm sure you could probably get one for desktop as well. [link]
However if you set up everything before you start, stick a camera on a tripod, get a remote shutter. Then focus it in on where you would be sitting. This way you would know you were going to be in frame, and you wouldn't keep shifting your eyes from lens to display. Obviously this depends on the type of vlog.
I think it was a photo because clarity is too high even for 4k. But, btw if you want to grab a photo from video you can do it using free GoPro app for iPhoneGoPro or AndroidGoogle Play. When you import video from camera wirelessly you can choose any frame you like. But I’d rather shoot a standalone photo because you can edit far more than with overcompressed video screenshot
ah… guess i should have looked to see it said “play store”.
this is the one on the play store. it says it lets you control your gopro. i would assume it lets you power it off like on the iPhone app.
If you're on Android, this is the version you want.
