This is the fault of the person running the website. They don't want you to read the whole article so they just give you a tiny bit and make you go to the actual site to read the rest (for that extra ad revenue).
As for a good rss reader, try either gReader Pro or their new app News+

Download this OPML file and import it on your feedly, then do one more thing download the app gReader pro from play store and link it with your feedly

It's been a while since I've been an active Android user (though I do still have a 2013 Nexus 7 for some reason), but didn't gReader already go Material?
Even still, I wouldn't be able to do Palabre (at least based on the screenshots from the Play Store), just because it lacks the list view that I've come to expect--the view that both gReader and Nextgen Reader use by default.
Edit: After flipping through the recent reviews on the Play Store, it looks like gReader may have become an ad-heavy, buggy piece of abandonware. Hmm. I guess it's a good thing I don't ever intend to go back to Android?
I'm a big fan of gReader Pro

GReader Pro by far, no real competition.
Just use Feedly with the Feedly notifier plugin on chrome or Firefox. On my phone I use greader pro. The benefit of using an aggregator like Feedly is that stuff you read or save for later is synced across devices.

What about gReader or FeedlyReader?
Edit: or Palabre?
GReader Pro has a great scrollable and customizable widget to keep up with RSS feeds. I use it all the time. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noinnion.android.greader.readerpro
You can use other apps to actually read your feedly feeds. gReader is my choice at the moment.
