What is Reddit's opinion of Hokie Mobile?

Like a lot of people, I'd recommend something like the Hokie Mobile app (this particular one works really well, and has a lot of features above just the map). What really helped me is to find a couple tall buildings/landmarks to help orient myself while on campus. If you know where the drillfield is, it's pretty easy to figure out where on campus you are. I also use Slusher Tower on the residential side and Burruss Hall on the academic side of the drillfield to place myself. They face each other on the center of the field.
