Hey I just tried the app with root and it's running perfectly. Any chance of it supporting app shortcuts in the future along with full apps?

Use case example: Setting Google Keep's "New Text Note" or Todoist's "Add Task" as Assistant shortcuts.

Homebot can do this but it's severely out of date and doesn't recognize all available shortcuts. So I was looking for a Homebot replacement and your app seems to be perfect except for the app shortcuts support.

Then launch it, select "launch shortcut", Nova action then select "expand notification.

I removed/disabled the Google app (I only need web search, from a browser, where it belongs) and the circle actually comes back after a reboot.

By the way, this was when I had no assistant apps at all. I use HomeBot which allows you to bind any action to long-pressing home.

I have no need for a Google assistant, the old simple Voice Search is all I want to use.

I use the free Homebot app to keep a long home button press from trying to load Google Assistant. Just set up HomeBot to launch "Voice Search" on a long home button press:
