To boil it down, it's a paint by the numbers where you have to figure out where the numbers go. They can always be solved by logic, you should never have to guess.
Pretty much every Picross game I've played has always had a tutorial that goes through the basics. If you're interested I'd suggest picking up one of the many free Picross games on mobile. If you're on Android, I highly recommend Hungry Cat Picross, it's not exactly like Picross S but it'll teach you the basic mechanics pretty quickly.
I love Picross games! Have you checked out Hungry Cat Picross? Its rules are slightly different from regular Picross, but it's one of the best games I've found.
Never understood why these didn't take off in book-form like Sudoku and shit. Picross actually gives you something cool when you beat it.
Mine right now is Hungry Cat Picross. It's a regular Picross game but with colors. It has weekly challenges and even a cute cat pet you can dress and all
Ay, a fan of puzzle games here and I've been playing Hungry Cat Picross for 2-3 years now across several devices (including my current one Redmi Note 8 Pro) and has no problem with it. It does has ads, but only ingame.
Assuming this is the one you installed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tuesdayquest.logicart
Also Hoplite is pretty solid puzzle as well, played it, and pretty sure it has no ad, only IAP for full version.
Maybe try some app list maker so you can make a list of installed apps and we can pinpoint what could be the problem
My all time favorite game to play while listening to a book is Hungry Cat Picross. I am truly addicted to this game.
So, if anyone is reading this and wants a rec for a similar game that actually works, I really like Hungry Cat Picross. I’ve played it on and off for about 3 years, and the developer likes to reference recent pop culture in their Tuesday Puzzles so that’s kinda cool.

A spin on picross, Hungry Cat Picross is something I play almost out of habit.
I've had on my phone since 2015, weekly new puzzles after you've finished the main ones.
Check out Hungry Cat Picross. It's a bit of a different take on classic Picross rules; but once you get the hang of it, it's actually one of the best Picross games for Android.

I've been itching for a good new Picross game after not getting what I wanted out of Pokémon Picross, completing all of Zelda Picross and waiting on more levels for Hungry Cat Picross.
Need to grab a copy of the first one, but this also looks very enticing.
Cool game but Hungry Cat Picross is still the best IMHO
Hungry Cat Picross
I've been playing it for like months, on and off. It's fun.
Hungry Cat Picross is the one I like the most. I paid for the ad-free experience. I like nonograms that use color.

That's so worthless these days, there are tons of free Android puzzle games. Why would you actually spend money on a puzzle game when they're free now? The game I have high hopes for is Xenoblade Chronicles II.
