To me, the new font looks a lot older and more out of date than the old one. That 'a' looks like it's from the 1960's. I have no idea what the company does (make this oddly named app, maybe?), but maybe the two dots aren't supposed to be doorknobs, but two eyes?
(Also: kerning sucks in the new one)
