There are a few but you can always use google maps itself. Hyperdia.com also have an app but I remember some users saying it was japanese only. There is also the official JR app which even shows detailed station maps.
As for questions, go ahead and spam the reddit, because there is always other people with similar questions that might come in and see that question answered, so it is encouraged to post publicly to help others with the same question ;)
Is there a weekly/monthly pass for the JR lines in Tokyo like there is for the subway systems in NYC? I've searched around and I'm guessing the answer is no.. I did see an all day pass though I think.
Also, the JR East has a mobile app where you can input two stations and it'll show you the route to take and the fare, but I cannot for the life of me find a browser version. The app is nice but a bit slow to load.
