I'd love to see a fully-featured Android app. We have LibreOffice Viewer:

And it has seen some improvements recently thanks to Google Summer of Code students. But still needs more polish. If any Android devs are reading and want to lend a hand: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Android – thanks!
Maybe LibreOffice Viewer fits your bill? The latest release is "only" a year old. Although the reviews are not that great...

I haven't tested it myself, but this app should be able to do that. The editing function is experimental though, and it hasn't been updated in a while.
The document foundation have 2 official apps on google play:

If you're interested in a Crostini (Linux (Beta)) solution you can easily install the full package with: "sudo apt install libreoffice"
Or...

I'm not sure about iOS. But on Android, it's available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.documentfoundation.libreoffice
And before LO had their own, there was another guy who made an independent ODF viewer for Android, but I don't recall what it was called.
I think it's a simple matter of them updating the Play store version a great deal more than the F-Droid version. I would have to dig around to find out if the repo linked from the F-Droid page is the current one, and if so whether one can simply compile it or whether it takes a special environment (and temperament) to build it.
I believe there are a few tricks for downloading an APK from the Play store without requiring the whole Play mechanism, but I haven't tried them in quite a while to speak to whether they work or what
It is possible to edit files, albeit it's an experimental feature:

You are talking about tabs. Does this mean you are using Notebookbar?
Which version are you using? Which Linux distro?
Re: Android, there is the official LibreOffice for Android, but I guess it's not yet full-featured: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.documentfoundation.libreoffice
It seems the Play Store version has not been updated since last December, but recently there have been a lot of commits to it. I hope there will be a new release soon.
LibreOffice is available on android too
I haven't used it so can't comment on how good it is
