Execution only solves help a lot. Use this website or this app to generate a scramble + memo. Execute each scramble/memo until you have a success and try to spam tps as fast as you can. When you're more comfortable with your execution, memo recall will be easier and you won't have to remember it as long, since your execution is faster.
A low success rate is not bad as long as you're trying to push memo and execution. When you do safe solves - double checking memo or just taking more time for memo, your successrate should be good, but during practise it's better to push everything, just like when you do sports, where you push yourself further and further, you're doing the same to your brain here :) Just be sure to check what you did wrong, so you learn from your mistakes!
Nice job!! I'm going to recommend an app that helped me a bunch when I first started 3bld. It basically generates memos so you can practise solving the pairs without worrying about memorization. Isolating this skill helped me a bunch when I just started. Check it out if u want https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jojo.memogenerator
I strongly recommend doing some execution only practise! It will speed up not only your alg execution, but it'll also make your memo recall easier, since you won't have to concentrate on your execution.
Use this website. You need to configure it to your lettering scheme, orientation, method and so on. If you have questions about the configuration, hit me up. Also be sure to read everything, so you can bookmark your configuration, since it won't be saved by cookies or anything else - the whole config is in the address. After configuration you'll be able to use it to confirm if your memo is right and you can also let it generate a scramble and a memo. Just execute that solution as fast as you can. If you fail, repeat until you get it right. To start it off, do like 5-12 scrambles. Until you feel really comfortable with your execution I suggest doing 2-3 scrambles before all of your blind sessions.
Alternatively if you have an android device you can use this app to generate a memo.
edit: some stuff
It gives scrambles and also generates the memo for your preferred letter scheme, so you can cross-check your own memo.
I have some questions about 3BLD. First is on parity. I'm using full OP method (Y perm for corners, T and J perm for edges) since I'm just starting out. I understand that both memo sequences will be either odd or even and if I have an odd number of letters in my memo that means I'll have parity. Say for instance I solve edges first and I have a 15 letter memo. After execution all my edges are solved. Then let's say I have a 9 letter corner memo. After that execution the entire cube is solved except for two swapped edges. How do I fix this?
Second, specific to breaking into a new cycle when it comes to edge memo, what are some good tips on knowing where I can shoot my buffer piece to? Touching each piece as I go through my memo cycle is a little awkward, and I'm not experienced enough at bld yet to know that C is also E, R is also H, etc.
Lastly, are there any good resources (websites, software, apps) that will generate memo sequences for me if I input my scrambled cube? I know there's an app in the Play Store. Sadly, my POS phone can't run it since it requires a higher version of Android than I have.
Thanks.
P.S.
Here's a link to the app I mentioned in case anybody's interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jojo.memogenerator&hl=en
Is there a website or iOS app like this? It's a very useful app but I couldn't find anything like it on other platforms.
MemoGenerator for Blindsolving
Linked also on our [wiki page on improving at blindfolded solving here](/r/Cubers/wiki/improving_bld#wiki_memo_and_scramble_generator).
We have a [Q&A for Beginners for 3BLD on our wiki](/r/Cubers/wiki/improving_bld#wiki_q.26amp.3Ba_for_beginners) that goes over those two questions and more.
> How do I memorise all those setup moves in OP and M2? How do I practise execution efficiently? How do I know if I did an execution or a memo error? > > - All those setup moves are intuitive. You should be able to come up with them on your own. Understand them. Then decide on which ones you are going to use, if there are multiple possibilities. Then get faster and safer with your execution by using the [above](/r/Cubers/wiki/improving_bld#wiki_memo_and_scramble_generator) mentioned BLD Memo Tools or MemoGenerator to get your setup moves and algs into your muscle memory. Those tools generate scrambles and their memo and you just do the execution part until it's all muscle memory. With those tools you can also check if your memo was correct and help with finding your errors after a DNF. > > How do I know that I didn't forget to target any pieces during memo? > > - You can put your fingers on pieces you already targeted. Should be easy enough for corners. For edges you can put your fingers on the pieces you targeted in the L- and R-layers and remember the M-slice edges visually. You don't have to put a finger on the buffer or the last piece, so even if you put your fingers on pieces in the M-slice, you'd only need to put your fingers on 10 pieces.
Here download this app, it will give you the letter pairs for a scramble. Just input your letter scheme and orientation and it generates the whole sequence.

Hey thanks for your answer, no offense but I didn't want to click and install something out of the blue so I looked it up, looks like it's on the playstore : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jojo.memogenerator And yeah judging from the screenshots I can input my own settings. Thanks !

It's an android app. I couldn't find anything like it on PC or IOS, so I can only use it on our android tablet.
Awesome :)
Attention, wall of text incoming.
If you want to improve your execution, there is nothing better than some execution only solves before every session. I can't stress enough how unbelievably well it works. I did it for 3BLD when I switched to M2 (I did edges only solves, since I was already pretty confident in my corner execution), I did it for 4BLD before I even did my first full attempt, because for the love of god I didn't want to end up with a DNF where I failed a setup move or sth else, but had the correct memo.
For my first 4BLD attempt, I was so confident in my execution (and took enough time to be sure enough about my memo) that I was practically sure it'd be a success and everything but a success would have seriously wondered me.
Right now I'm trying this for 5BLD and whenever I have the time, I squeze in a 5BLD execution only solve. When I'm at a decent success rate for execution only solves, I'll try my first full solve.
So for 3BLD I'd suggest doing ~3-5 scrambles before every session. Generate a memo with this website (I probably already suggested this website, but if not: you might need to change the settings if your orientation or naming scheme or something else differs from mine. if you have questions about the config, shoot ahead) or this app.
For the website just click the "generate memo" button and you get a scramble and a memo, scramble the cube, execute by only looking at the memo. Redo the scramble until you have a success and try to spam tps as much as you can and try not to pause at all. This way all your setup moves and algs will really get into your muscle memory and you will know how fast you can execute your algs while still being in control - something you typically don't want to practise during a real solve, since you already did a memo and don't want to jeopardise the success by a failed execution.
I'd start with initially ~10 scrambles and then before every session ~3 until you feel really comfortable. You can also time all your solves to see how good your successrate is and how your times develop.
Execution only training will not only have a huge impact on your execution times, it will also make memo recall much easier, since you can concentrate on it much more, when you are sure about your execution.
Have fun and keep us updated on your progress :)
This app seems to do the same thing but with less configuration : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jojo.memogenerator
This is a nice little app to help focus on execution if you need to :) otherwise just keep practicing that memo! Good luck bro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jojo.memogenerator
And are there any apps out there similar to this app but for 4BLD?
