There are apps that already do exactly this (this one for example), but it would be great if MFP would implement it, to save you entering data twice.
Yes! I found one a month ago that is perfect for that. It's this one (Android, I dont know if there's one for iOS).
There's a free version too. You can add what you ate, BMs, symptoms, exercise, energy, quality of sleep
Is your phone android? I have this app and you can log your symptoms, what you ate, the meds you took, how much you slept, even bowel movements. I guess it's close to what you're looking for and it works amazingly well for me!
It was a while ago I used it and I'm not sure exactly what functionality you are looking for but I used:
Tracks food intake and how you feel, then automatically suggests sensitivities.
I use mysymptoms https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhs.mysymptoms&hl=en_US&gl=US . Its very flexible. Just ignore the recommendations. And bitesnap for food cause those two really should be separate apps.
There are some allergy trackers would work probably. If you're looking for nutrient calculations, though, they won't. One good one is my Symptoms Food app on android and iOS. You can add your own symptoms so if things trigger your ED stuff, you might be able to track that as well.
Wonderful! I wasn't aware the Mayo Clinic was treating it as it's own thing now :) Good to know! I'm firmly on the MCAS side of things, but it looks like I'll be reading up on Histamine Intolerance getting more recognized. :) A lot of people including several mast cell specialists suspect histamine intolerance is just a milder form of MCAS. One website that discuss some of this is here.
While the low histamine diet helps us "Masties" too, my own experience with the low histamine diet is less than perfect due to multiple food allergies developing as an adult. But depending on what you can eat, a quick and simple lunch is supposed to be peanut butter and honey sandwiches, using peanut butter without any additives and fresh whole wheat or unbleached bread.
I personally enjoy a lot of rice with meat. Like pork chops with brown rice. Anything potato, even instant mashed, tends to cause me problems. (Like all nightshades) Avoid leftovers unless they are frozen immediately.. Also avoid overeating. Histamine is used by the body to signal the cells that produce stomach acid to start producing. This is why H2 antihistamines like zantac, or pepcid AC are used vs heartburn. But the very act of eating releases histamine. Eating anything until I'm stuffed makes me regret it quickly. For the most part, it's about what you can't eat rather than what you can. A lot involves substituting something safe to fill in for something less safe. Like rice instead of potatoes, more butter added to certain recipes instead of cheese, homemade pasta sauce without tomatoes
There's a high degree of variation between what one person can tolerate and another can not. Simple rule of thumb: keep a food journal. Write down everything you eat, and write down when you have symptoms. Look for patterns. There are even smartphone apps for that like mySymptoms Food Diary & Symptom Tracker
There is also r/histamineintolerance. But it's not the most active of subreddits. I hope I didn't come across as condescending with my first comment or anything.
I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhs.mysymptoms&hl=en&gl=US for everything except nutrition.
MySymptoms is my personal favorite : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhs.mysymptoms
