This is my list of the best app(s) for every category.
News: News360 News360 lets you add interests and it will give you stories about the topics you chose also you can like or dislike to tune your recommendations. Free Feedly This is a a bit like News360 but rather than interests it lets you put in websites or RSS feeds. Free
Weather:Weather Timeline This is one of the best designed apps I've seen and the weather is quite reliable too. The widget is also very customizable. Paid. $1.00
Notes:Google Keep If you like complex and feature heavy note apps I recommend Evernote if not Keep is a great simple app that is well designed. You can create reminders in just a few taps. Free
TV and Movies:Terrarium TV has a non complicated interface that gets straight to the stuff you want to watch, has plenty of series and movies with Chromecast support unfortunately it needs MX Player to work. Also Kodi good if you take the time to set it up but a bit overkill of you just want to stream some movies. Free
Keyboard:I like SwiftKey because of its prediction system and also I really like how it looks. Also the swipe gestures are quite reliable. Free
Launcher:Nova Launcher Prime because of the sheer customization it offers. Paid $5.00

Music :Spotify is a great and well designed app with the standard amount of songs for these services. Also if you're a Three customer you can get 3 months free of Deezer Premium which is nearly identical to Spotify Premium. Here is that deal.
Calendar: I use Google Calendar because of its beautiful design and simplicity. Free. I'm not a power user by any means so if you use your calendar a lot Google Calendar will probably fall short The app that I've heard is good for heavy use is Today Calendar . Paid $5.00
Cloud Storage:I use Google Drive over Dropbox because it has more storage on their free plan and I use Google Docs a lot and those files don't count against my storage. Also if you're running out of storage on a plan and you're a cheapskate like me Mega gives you 50GB on their free plan :O. Free
Writing:Google Docs while Word is better on desktop on mobile Docs hits the sweet spot between having plenty of features and not being overwhelming or being unsuited to a mobile interface. And the features Docs has are all neatly tucked away in easy to find menus.Free
Education:Khan Academy is great for stuff you didn't you didn't understand in class with over 10,000 video lessons so there is no need to worry about a topic being too specific. Free. Also you can't forget Wikipedia
Health tracking:S Health usually I dislike like the way Samsung designs their apps but for S Health the design just works and doesn't look to bad either with S Health you can track your steps, sleep and calories. You can set daily goals and compete against your friends. Free
Also is there any way I could change my emoji style without rooting?
