Yes! I think it goes off of your location. If you keep reading in this thread, someone said they got a whole different amount when they moved to NYC.
I posted about another application called Panel. It is similar to Google Rewards. Good luck on getting more surveys!
Edit: thought this was a PM at first, so I changed the wording.
Panel App. That's literally what it's called. It gives you a survey every day, asking where you were the day before, and gives you points based on how many questions you ask, how many you answered accurately, and those points can be turned into gift cards. It did take me about three or four months to get my first one, it's not going to pay out extremely quickly, but it's easy, and you get money for what you do anyway. If you're not okay with sharing your location, I think there's an option to turn that off. You'll still get points, just a whole lot slower than if you had location data turned on.
Passive is the name of the game imo.
There's
Panel app ref: bit.ly/1l5SGR3 /non-ref
you can also check out nielsenmobile app, mobile performance meter, and appoptix which all give you credits just for keeping your phone turned on.
Panel App plays well with Cross Media Panel (I run both on the same device), but doesn't pay very well compared to Cross Media. Still, it's extra money for doing nothing. Combine with a lock screen app, like SlideJoy, for even more money per month.

SmartApp is good, but now requires a VPN, so that's a non-starter for most beermoney people.
I use Panel App. I don't think you should use it on a phone dedicated to Perk or something similar unless you bring it to wherever you go. This app tracks you using the phone's GPS. You'll get multiple-choice questions about your whereabouts at a certain day and time and answering their questions earns you more points. At least once a week, I'll get a notification to answer a few questions, so it's definitely not labor intensive.
Panel is a location based survey application. Essentially, you live your life (they give you points for it, as long as your location is turned on), and complete short 2-7 question surveys every couple of days. I use it to get a few bucks off my Amazon shopping cart.
Canada here. Options here are limited but if anyone from Canada wants to try some things for passive income.
SMS testing applications are having a little problem right now due to a Google Play policy change but are still running outside of the play store.
* McMoney - Payout to Paypal
* Money SMS - Payout to a few. I use Bitcoin - Referral - 3F8AD7854
* Panel App - Testing this one. Have yet to perform a payout.
This is passive income so it is slow. I also use "Google Opinion Rewards" but that only pays out to store credit.
Testing sms can be annoying getting text all the time. Often they are filled with jumbled text that Tasker users can do stuff with.
I use this app called Panel. It rewards users for completing surveys. You can redeem points in the app for gift cards.

I've used this one for a while. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sewichi.client.panel
I'm unsure if they still pay but they've changed it from Panel to 'Rewards' .
you can use Panel app REF NON-REF apparently I'm too stupid to figure out how to find the non ref link - so you can just hit the app store to find it(linked above in NON REF) - their website doesn't allow "surfing" so I cant find it. you get points just for having it on your phone - you also get an opportunity to answer survey questions (NOT REQUIRED TO EARN) bad part is that their redemptions seem to have gone up recently - but still....effortless free money!
you can also try reward stash (lock screen with other earning opportunities. )

I've noticed that when I drive I see popups that allow me to "check in" to places when I drive by - most recently was a target. I don't know how long you have to check in, or how close you have to be, since I don't usually see it because my device is in GPS mode using Waze.
