As I get cards from Perk I add them to my Walmart account here:
https://www.walmart.com/cservice/yourGiftCardsAndOffers.do
When I want to combine them I go here:
http://www.walmart.com/shopping_card/card_information.gsp?product_id=3223392
And purchase a gift card for whatever amount I need. Make sure to fill out everything except the message part. Click review and then add it to your cart. From there go your cart and checkout. By default it's going to be asking for a credit card for payment but you can select gift cards instead and it will list all of your cards you have stored. One little flaky thing is that you can store 5 cards but you can only use up to 4 to make a purchase. No big deal, though. Once you total due is 0'd out, place the order and wait. I did this earlier today and had my card within 30 minutes.
As an added bonus, you'll now have an email with a scan-able bar code in your email that you take the checkout. I just show them my phone and usually they can scan the bar code from my phone.
LG Fuels have a bandwidth bug. They basically have a bug in mediaserver, which of course handles media. I believe the bug makes it download media over and over and over. I linked an app below that fixes the issue. I however have never used the app and can not vouch for it.
This is what Paypal said on whether you have to get verified or not, "You must become Verified to be able to make payments of more than $500.00 USD or withdraw money from your PayPal account.." So if you just want to buy something online that is under 500 dollars then you should be fine. If you want to transfer money to your bank account to withdraw it then you would have to verify it.
There's an app called S'mores that pays $0.10 per phone per day. I use it with my farm (3 devices), and it pays amazon gift cards instantly once you have $1 in your account. You have to make separate accounts for each of your phones, but I believe that does not go against their TOS. Hope this helps!

That site has literally saved me hundreds of $$$'s from buying things when they hit a low price.
It uses Gracenote for audio detection and it's been awhile since I read their privacy policy but it doesn't record the audio, it only reports whatever triggers the app to play ads and it's nothing that can personally identify you.
There is nothing in Perk's privacy policy about collecting audio.
Edit: Gracenote is a totally separate company from Perk and has been used for years to identify audio.

The way you have it set up is as separate as they can get. The access point mode I mentioned is not a default so if you are unsure what it is then it's not likely you have gone through the steps to change it over to that. I would suggest a better router to be honest. The ones you have were great in their day, but that was ages ago.
This is a very nice one that won't set you back all that much either. It supports most of the major 3rd party firmwares as well. You may also want to look into an offshoot of OpenWRT called Gargoyle. Their page can be found here. I mention this one because it has a lot more bandwidth controls than others I've seen. It even allows you to set quotas for specific devices or a shared quota between a few devices as a group.
Weird. According to camelcamelcamel.com, the price hasn't dropped below $39 EVER.

Can you share any more information about how you got this price?
The Anker® 25W 5-Port Desktop USB Charger is cheaper and can power 5. The Sabrent 7 Port High Speed USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter And Individual Power Switches powers 7 for the same price.
What makes the one you've linked to special? (I'm not saying it isn't I'm genuinely asking.)
Found this charging station on Amazon if anyone's interested. Extra 15% if you're a prime member:

Adme pays well when you use the double screen mode (you'll see in the app; you choose how many ads you see). I've earned about $23. Cashout is a bit high at $10 though.
After registering, enter the code Ws4b8G271n for a $0.25 bonus (I think it's on top of the $1 that new users start with). It would be much appreciated.

Good job. Should have ran SuperSUMe Pro first. I've rooted a Zone 3, ran SuperSU Me Pro, factory reset, no problem. Here's the link: Link
You really are paranoid. There are several reasons why I don't think they would be using a stagefright exploit.
Perk sucks at coding. Their apps crash constantly and their servers take a crap every week. I'm not sure they have the technical know-how to create the exploit.
Google Play runs scans on apps in their store. So if a Perk app was using a Stagefright exploit, Google likely would have found it and booted out their apps.
Why would they do it? They already a ton of permissions about your phone. They can read your identity, contacts, media storage, wifi networks, etc. There isn't much more to get.
Their app code shows no indication of a stagefright exploit. (I haven't personally checked, but I have friends who have, and would have mentioned it).
If you're really worried about it, do the following:
Check for phone updates. It's possible your phone has a Stagefright patch.
See if you are vulnerable by using the Stagefright Detector.
Install a CyanogenMod ROM. It has the stagefright patch.
Yeah you can use the for the verizon trade in, along with a coupon code to increase in money recieved you can end up getting a 500 buck phone for next to nothing, then you can either sell the phone, make bank, or enjoy your new phone.
The thing that I wanna do next is pick up another few phones because I want to use them to set up media controllers for my tv's and htpc. You can load the phones with different software, including stuff like Kore which is a media remote for Kodi (media center software or htpc os) and there are versions of them for pretty much all the different home theater software. And there is software that if the phone has the right hardware you can use the remote on the tv itself as well.
If you decide that you just wanna get rid of them to avoid the hassle and make some cash instead then let me know, I might wanna take a few off ya, depending on what you have left bud, well, by "left" I mean what you are willing to get rid of after you get a ton of random projects suggested here on what to use them for haha

This is not how scientific method works, if the established mainstream is already there, the burden is on you because of your lack of study. But I'll humor you, oh pithy troll:
http://scholarcommons.sc.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1162&context=eche_facpub
Journal of Power Sources, Volume 127, Issues 1–2, 10 March 2004, Pages 65–71 Volumes 119–121, 1 June 2003, Pages 865–869 also have a wealth of information.
Also see Yixuan Wang's published studies from University of South Carolina. He's pretty well respected in the porous media chemical field, which just so happens to cover what I speak of with anode film.
And most importantly before you try to troll more, be sure to cover things published by Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering, Kyusyu University, as part of your study, you'll need it to understand the science behind all of it as spinel cathodes with graphitized carbon can cause different failure times due to carbonate+dimethyl electrolyte and could cause you some research holes causing you to mistake cell failure (capacity loss) for SEI growth/resistance state changes which can look similar.
Lifetime prediction (and it's failure states, dependent on technology used) of lithium battery technology is empirical, not some armchair fantasy or Battery University open workshop bullshit. Say it with me... MAINSTREAM SCIENCE
edit: for the uneducated, SEI refers to solid-electrolyte interphase, and is designed through battery chemistry to protect the electrode, but as the battery is cycled it will invariably cause resistance and after voltage upticks, cause gradual capacity fading until failure. This function is firmly grounded in Faradaic impedance theory, which is basic electrochemistry (like first year)
Edit: Same here, ads freezing and full on crashes.

not directly about bypassing batteries, but i kept my phones running good by:
good luck
It isn't about the actual costs and it certainly isn't that we feel entitled. Do you not know how advertising works? Ad companies hire a middle man to deliver ads to an audience and that middle man gets X money per ad delivered. Even if Perk was making the same as us and there were only 10,000 of us (there's probably hundreds of thousands) that's still $50,000 a day which turns into over $18 million a year. Assuming they paid all 95 of their employees $30,000 a year it would cost them only $2.85 million for staff and they could easily pay their staff and other costs even if they only made $2 per $5 we made. That is assuming medical for 95 people, property taxes and other crap doesn't cost over $4 million annually. Middle men always take huge cuts of the money and they're probably making more per account then we are.
That is what we are complaining about. The company is steadily getting rich from more users and is now cutting our profits for even more profits on their end. Now someone will probably link to some post saying how we make more per ad than Perk and that Perk can barely afford to stay in business.
Edit: If you look at the first member shown on Perk's site, Ted Hastings he is probably the mastermind behind this because he apparently does similar things for a living.
I know a lot of devices say they are not compatible, but you can actually go to this link and download an APK for it. It will pretty much run on any Android device, minus tablets.

A quick Google search took me here: https://apkpure.com/perk-tv/com.juteralabs.perktv
However, Android is not nearly as simple as Windows is to install things OR EVEN look for things since you have to install a folder manager.

If you find DD-Wrt confusing (or even if you don't but want more features) then you may want to check out Gargoyle. It's based off of OpenWRT but has a really nice interface and a quota system that can really be a godsend if you are managing a lot of devices and want to reign in some heavy users. You can find it at http://www.gargoyle-router.com/
> TP Link WR-1043
Not sure if you feel comfortable trying this but I had that specific router you mention (the TPLINK) and it's one of the best routers for Gargoyle firmware which is MUCH MUCH better than the default. Even with default firmware I highly doubt it's being overloaded by your devices. If you are up for it though with gargoyle and that router you can setup qos rules, see bandwidth usage by device, even set quotas for other devices that automatically either slow all internet or block it entirely when reached. Extended my ranges quite a bit on wifi connections and allowed me to monitor what devices were using how much. After 2 years when the router finally died I decided to splurge on a higher end gaming router with 4 separate wifi networks with dedicated antennas to each, and I actually regret it, miss the flexibility and control I had with Gargoyle. http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=supported_routers_-_tested_routers Yours is in the first section here.
I don't need to buy any, but in case someone wants to know (I love the Cheapest Devices posts, keep contributing guys!), FreedomPop LG Viper Smartphone (Pre-owned), $30. 1.2GHz Dual Core CPU, 1GB RAM. I don't know anything about it, or if you can choose to not activate the plan once you get it, but it's there if you want to take a look. Anyone have input?
Chrome Canary. It's like an alpha-ish version of Chrome. With the latest version of Flash on Windows 10, Perk.TV has been running great. Only the occasional freeze or page crash, very seldom though. I use regular Chrome for everything else, I don't want Perk to get friendly with my main browser.

New Pixi Glitz ($12) - https://www.amazon.com/Tracfone-Alcatel-Onetouch-Glitz-A463BG/dp/B017LDNLIG/
The refurbished Sunrise's and Lucky's are still going for $10 on Amazon.
That said, I'm torn apart between buying the Glitz and the Lucky.... D:
https://proxpn.com markets their product as "FREE VPN, GET YOUR 100% FREE VPN HERE". I'm going to say its a VPN and is in violation of Perk's terms of service. I would uninstall it from any devices and when you redeem- you shouldn't use a device with ProXPN installed. The rewards may get cancelled.
A VPN essentially "hides" or spoofs your traffic to make it appear- to other servers that your physical location is actually somewhere else. Some use it to put their device in the US when they are actually not; then use different misc. services that are for US individuals only. This is my main guess why Perk does not allow it. They only have payment and taxes set up in the countries that Perk supports via their TOS.
You can try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.hidemyroot&hl=en or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.formyhm.hideroot&hl=en. Had some luck with them before but seems hit or miss.
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. If you're able, I'd be interested in knowing if you could test running the phones without a battery. I've seen some bloat on my older devices, despite relatively low temps and good ventilation.
If you've never run one without, I would try one of two things: 1) Just pull the battery and see what happens. If it keeps going, great! 2) If it shuts down, try shutting down the phone, install battery, unhook from wall, turn on, plug back into the wall, pull battery during boot (on the Fuel you have to pull right after the TracFone logo shows up). If that works, then awesome.
I know it's a relatively low chance of bloat, and that if you monitor the phones it's not really a problem, but I still get nervous about it, so knowing phones can run without batteries is a pretty nice feature in my book.
Also, if you're not aware, apparently there is a fix for the Fuel's mediaserver bug: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vldz.mmon
I guess it was created by a fellow Redditor/Perker and it will monitor and reset the mediaserver process if it goes nuts. I can't say I've ever seen anything weird with my Fuels since I started almost two years ago, but I just installed this on my last remaining Fuel to see if it does anything to my overall bandwidth use (which, when all is said and done, is only about 15-20GB/day, without Perk it's <5GB most days).
For me, the less I have to do manually the better. I use this auto cache cleaner set at 6 minutes, it has always worked good for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache
Other than that, I restart my phones every few days and that's about it for me.
App Cache Cleaner would be the app you want. -Link
Or go to Settings->Applications->Click the app you want to clean the cache from->Clear Cache
lock unlock lock unlock.
u cna get an app that puts a lock button on your screen.. and then go down the line, tap tap tap tap tap.. and back swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe. repeat until your fingers break.
totaly hope this helps

i love mahjong in the first place and every round i win i get a point, not much but shit it means i can earn while i sit on... well you get the idea ;)
I agree with your statement, no person in their right mind would sit around all day poking at their phones for a measly couple points. If Perk would give warnings instead of cancellations it would be better for both parties. Most users want to be legitimate with Perk but since Perk is a shady company it turns their consumers (independent contractors) shady. Perk became a million dollar company over night and they don't know how to handle it.
Instead of trying to contact customer support I suggest everyone get on Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/ and message the CEO and managers of Perk because it's possible they don't know how corrupt their support department is.
I saw the sunrise for $10. But let's say I bought 5 of these phones how long will it take to get ROI I never really tried perk.
Walmart Net10 Alcatel pixi eclipse $8.34 (taken from last weeks thread)
im not a technical person by any means! but an article that i read about the rootjunky batch file said it did not root your device. what kindle fire are you using? i tried to use the batch file on my old 2nd gen kindle and it installed play store. but the perktv app itself did not work on it. it would just close out :(
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/7-things-didnt-know-could-do-kindle-fire/
Just for reference/feedback, i have two separate routers to help with the congestion. Primary is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BUSDVBQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Tc2Kub1CZ2B36 (on sale also) and my perk router is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=33-166-064. It has been a huge difference having them separated and i remember reading that its a good idea somewhere in this sub.
This is the link I used. It said $40 when I signed up for it, but if I sign out of my account and revisit it, it instead says $10 for signing up. Also, after signing up I now have the Amazon.com Store Card as an option for payment.
Edit: I speculate that the signing up bonus changed because there is limits based on IP. The only thing I can think of at the moment.
Also, what is the rewards card exactly?
I used to run BIONC on my old Athlon XP machines. I'm sure my parents loved that power bill.
As far as once this train stops moving, if there is no viable alternative, I plan to turn them into $10 IP cameras - http://www.howtogeek.com/139373/how-to-turn-an-old-android-phone-into-a-networked-security-camera/
Amazon sales have tags on them showing timers. There is no timer on this. The prices actually went up because they have a history of being at $19.99 since early March. And I highly doubt there were multiple ebay sellers suddenly offering cheaper hydros. They've likely been up there for a while as well. The listing for $26 has 78 sold. I can guarantee you that wasn't all in the last few hours.
As for the used ones, they start at $7 used as "buy now". There's a few dozen under $10. Feel free to double check my link. I was never looking at the auctions.
Don't be pulling shit out of your ass. Things didn't magically just get more expensive in the last few hours.
I actually ran into a similar problem about two months ago but with the 5ghz band acting up instead of the 2.4. I highly recommend trying out the Merlin firmware if you haven't already, this seems to have done the trick for my issue. It takes less than 15 minutes total and would help you troubleshoot further in the event that it still doesn't work (you'd know firmware likely isn't the issue, could possibly be hardware).
If you go to settings > App Manager > Perk & choose erase data it basically "reset" the app to the state it was when first installed. It will boost earnings, which fall off 20-30% after about 2 weeks. I recommend doing it at least every 2 weeks. You'll have to log back into Perk.
>Clearing cache has varying effects from platform to platform and sometimes people extrapolate
Yeah, Andoid & Linux are actually built to have their RAM full. That's how they run the best. Here's some decent info on it in layman-friendly language. Many people make assumptions on this sub or repeat what they've heard (sometimes wrong). I try to only say things that I have proven statistically to be correct. That way even if I'm downvoted, the people that think I'm wrong end up just fucking themselves over.
No, servers don't have access to your MAC address. Only the direct router/switch to which you are connected. The MAC address in the IP packet is changed every time it goes to another router, and so the final destination (their server) would only see the MAC address of their own router.
However, IPv6 generates the IP address based on your MAC address, and so it can leak your MAC if you don't have the proper settings.
Get one of these "Charger Doctor" inline voltage/amperage testers. I found out that my old Galaxy S3 was only pulling ~230mA from any AC wall charger.
You download their app, sign up, and click a video category/earn button depending on the app and it plays ads. RewardableTV is the best right now imo, I earned like $400 or so bucks over a couple of months (4 I think), the only problem with them is they take a while to pay out. They've always paid me though. YooLotto pays less than RewardableTV, but it pays out more frequently. Both of them pay into verified PayPal accounts only.
Here is YooLotto apk for sideload: https://apkpure.com/yoolotto-make-money-everyday/com.yoolotto.android If you want to, you can sign up with my referral code XMMTPE. I think it gives us both 25 cents. The place to put in the referral code comes towards the end of the sign-up process iirc, so don't be alarmed if you don't see it and you're almost completely done signing up.
Here is RewardableTV apk for sideload: https://apkpure.com/rewardable-tv-watch-chat/com.rewardable.rewardabletv If you want, my referral code for this is TBLANTON2. It gives us both a 50 cent bonus.
The subreddits for those apps are /r/YooLotto and /r/RewardableApp + /r/RewardableTV
Although you should be forewarned, the subreddits are typically people bitching about the app not working (don't use ridiculously cheap phones unless you already have them) or them not getting paid (it's possible to have fallen in the cracks when they were developing their payment system, and RTV had a little incident with their subreddit mod and subsequent payment processing issues, but I've been paid ~$40 since then so I'm still comfortable running it 24/7.)
I use APKPure on many of my phones. Makes for easy provisioning of new devices, power it up, connect to WiFi, skip all setup, search&download APKPure's market. Done. All the Perk apps and the ability to easily choose from many older versions. I'm not sure if it will do automatic updates but it does notify you when they exist.
Have you tried side-loading it? I have had Google Play tell me that apps were "incompatible" with my device, but I can download them from other sources and install them that way.
As an example: https://apkpure.com/perk-pop-quiz/com.jutera.perkpopquiz.aphone?hl=en
There are other sites you can search for as well.
I have both the moto e and zone 3 on my farm, I would stay away from the zone 3. My optimus fuels work better than they do.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Total-Wireless-LG-Optimus-Fuel-Android-Prepaid-Smartphone/43389440
Ha, that's what I was looking at. I was just confused, I thought it was refurb. That's because I clicked on it from the Walmart Refurbished phones page https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/refurbished-phones?facets=price%3A%2420+-+%2450
If you have multiple monitors, keep them open in separate windows (a window for perk.tv and a window for viggle.tv) on a different monitor. If you only have one monitor, you can use a virtual second monitor with VirtuaWin and keep them open that way.
EDIT: Also, use Firefox as it is more stable than Chrome in terms of RAM usage.
Can you provide a link to this package? I am interested in trying this out as well. I just went thru the site again and the only thing that I can see is the deal where you can get screenshots from the phone and basic info from it...but not really do anything to the phone.
This is only page I found that relates to it.
https://www.teamviewer.com/en/products/mobile-device-support.aspx
I don't use phones to guard my farm, but I have used Kyocera Hydros as IP cams to keep an eye on my kids playing in the backyard while I'm busy doing something inside. I use the app found here on the broadcasting camera. And to view the camera, I use this app on another phone, or a web browser on a computer.
As far as the router settings, it's pretty standard procedure to have to set up port forwarding on your router so that your phone can be accessed on the correct port from the outside world.
Not any video. It uses Gracenote audio detection to detect shows and commercials. It also records audio, per Google permissions, to send to their servers to match up with whatever they use for the audio detection. Read more on Gracenote to learn about it.
Yeah, they use a program called Gracenote by another company altogether to detect audio. I don't think it's Perk just totally shutting the app down. It's a problem with Gracenote.
FYI, still haven't heard anything back and I'm still having issues. I was able to successfully redeem for rewards twice last week and received both, so I know I'm not banned. I also noticed that this site also says Perk is down. Clearly there are some server/routing issues to Perk.com that aren't affecting everyone. Whether they care enough to fix it or not, I can't say.
I actually used a similar tool
But as you can see from Perk's own status page, their App servers are totally different from their web server. So unless we know the URL/IPadd of the App servers, you can't just check the up/down status simply by checking the homepage URL (though I know that it usually works too, but not in this case).
Yeap. You can either upgrade firmware from gargoyle web GUI or from command line http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3558#p28224 Go back to stock firmware is also easy http://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/
I hate when people do this, only seeing one side of the story and not checking if they themselves have a made a statement before making a judgement and then spreading it around. Hola has made a statement on it, look at it before making statemets.
See if you can find any info on this site.
I'm pretty sure its as easy as installing squid on a pc at home, running it, and setting the DNS server on your devices as the ip of that pc. I havent tried it yet though because I think you can get banned.
Pro tip: dl the zip file an upload it here (make sure you're logged into your Google account) and you're all set.
I use https://www.textnow.com/. I just register with the same email I use for Perk. You get 5 minutes of calling out for free and you can receive unlimited calls. I think it's simpler than google voice. I'm not actually sure if GV works still, but I know TextNow does for sure.
Slickdeals posted a thread with the BLU Advance 4.0 and the Alcatel One Touch 991 for free with 2 months of service + a sim card for as low as ~$85 on the cheapest plan.
I get coverage with this company and after doing more research they seem really solid and my question is, has anyone used either of the aforementioned as perk devices and if so; are they worthwhile for farm additions? If not, can anyone attest to the farming capabilities of the Coolpad FLO or HTC One S's farming capabilities. which are $50 and $100 with the two months of service, respectively?
I just saw this phone mentioned at Slickdeals where it says you can get it for $5 after using BeFrugal.com
I've never used BeFrugal.com or the topcashback.com site that thejackofalltirades mentioned. The only cash back site I've ever used was Mrrebate.com and they did not give me the money that they promised. So I'm a bit skepical of these cash back sites. If anybody has had good experiences with them, and if you're not a shill for these sites, then let's hear your experiences.
I had my reward canceled and points confiscated for using a proxy. I was using Zenmate to stream BBC News all day and forgot to switch browsers. It took about a week and some talking with support, but they did give me the points back.
At home VPNs like running OpenVPN server on your router or server should be completely transparent to Perk. What people have been getting banned/flagged was using Public VPNs like Private Internet Access or Hot Spot Shield. Someone want to chime in and explain why Perk would flag people for leaving through your own home modem please do I am curious.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unspoken0623.Gsettings this can be used to reset the google ad id very easy. And the cache, that works how you are doing it, but I actually just delete the system cache from within android under storage, system/cache. And the app cache under the app, storage. But you are doing it just while not booted into android so it works also, and its clearing out every cache on the phone so its alot better imo how you do it.
I know you have this issue fixed now, but did you trying clearing the app data and cache on the app? This app will clear it with the touch of a button. It also had a feature to keep your screen darker to help save on electricity.
Routers from ISP's typically are quite bad. They are mean't for light usage and Perk usually quickly goes over that light usage (Depends on how many devices you are using). The EdgeRouter X is available ($52), but I have no experience with it. It is recommend by a few people on this subreddit. This is a wired router.
Most people are used to routers including wireless in this. In this case you need an access point for wireless ability. I linked one below that keeps getting recommended by others ($75). /u/back_like_woa made a great point about consumer routers and Perk earlier today. In a nicer way of saying it, these options are better than dealing with cheaper consumer routers that have issues.
Bloating occurs mainly due to heat. If you touch your devices are they warm? I know some people use USB fans (Linked one I have seen posted below). To my knowledge none of these devices will allow you to run without a battery. When a battery bloats it is a warning that things are going wrong.
If you continue to ignore the battery bloating you are going to have an issue. Batteries bloat because gases are released and the battery contained them (In return it bloats). Eventually that protection may fail.
I used WiFi analyzer and discovered my neighbors were almost all on my same channel. It will help to look for one without many other routers.
Also, Amazon has the Linksys WRT AC1200 Dual-Band and Wi-Fi Wireless Router with Gigabit and USB 3.0 Ports and eSATA (WRT1200AC) on sale for $69.99 currently. The third questions down is about # of devices & someone with Linksys said "32 devices at the same time for optimum use, but it can handle more than that"
It looks like overkill, but I had the Amazon gift cards stored up & this price seemed pretty good. I ordered one and I'm guessing things will just run slower for each device as you go over 32 since it is sharing the bandwidth with so many devices.
He's looking for a true USB hub not merely a charger.
The one I use (own several) and can vouch for:
https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Anker-SuperSpeed-Including-Charging/dp/B005NGQWL2/
It's not cheap. 50 bucks. But they're rock solid.
You could try something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ChenYang-Degree-Angled-Adapter-Galaxy/dp/B00M7X6XNG
in combination with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Network-Adapter-Macbook-Chromebook/dp/B00MYT481C
That would give you both charging and internet.
You need either something like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.littlelan.ReverseTether.Trial
Or something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM3KXAU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_in3eybYQNCPDB
I order my USB cables from Aliexpress.
Yes, they are cheap and would be a terrible choice for your main phone, but they're good enough for my beermoney phones.
I've tried a few of the super cheap 'Chinese' brick chargers on amazon. Most didn't live up to their specs, but they charge and keep my phones charged so I'm alright with it. I have a few of these and they seem to work fine.
Yes, they are probably inefficient but they get the job done and haven't caught on fire yet. $14.00/5ports = $2.80 per port
So swapping to a new router vs using the Comcast modem/router might solve the issue? Hate to ask the done to death question but what's a good router to opt for? I have a this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PVDT5LG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in addition but haven't noticed any better connection when I opt for wifi for the phones using this connection. The modem provided by Comcast has been in use by me since march so isn't all that "old" but I may see if they would be willing to replace ..which would get me a new router from them. Funny you should mention the noise issue as I had to have them fix something like that last year ..turned out to be a bad plug (10 yr old house wiring) and a new outlet fixed it. Haven't had connection issues until august..worked ok with new IP..now back to lagging. Just kind of puzzling..
That's interesting. My $60 AP can handle all 20 or so of my devices over my $180 router? I guess I should put my AP to good use...
Should I put half of them onto the AP? (I don't want to overload the AP)
Just to clarify, it's this AP: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HXT8R2O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yes. I'm using the latest Kindle Fire 7" 5th generation: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-7-Inch-Tablet-8GB/dp/B00TSUGXKE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472057064&sr=8-1&keywords=kindle+fire. Maybe that's the reason, idk. The X'ed out ads that appear on Perk Word Search don't pop up every time but they do appear throughout the day and they have to be exited out manually.
i already have this credit card from last year and if you spend 150 or more, you get 30 dollars off. when i signed up for this card last year, i got a $75 dollar amazon credit. BONUS!!! **as long as the purchase price exceeds 150 dollars, you can use a gift card + the amazon visa rewards card and still get the bonus 30 dollars off. im about to pull the trigger on a galaxy tab e and my total cost will be 71 dollars and some change due to my gift card balance+the additional 30 dollars off since the price was over 150.
the amazon card i got a $50 gift card was this one:
If you have detachable backs on your phones (or you could buy cheap cases), I drilled two holes in the back of the phone case, put two screws through with very flat heads, and mounted them to pegboard on a wall. If you're not planning on reselling the phones, this is a good option.
Put the pegboard at a comfortable level on the wall and tap, tap, tap, your farm can be tended to in seconds. Plus they are detachable to change or remove batteries and they will never fall down like with velcro or other adhesives. If you are able, you could mount them on a concrete wall which will help keep them cool. I've been running this way for over two years and have not had any battery bloat problems.
You can also drill larger holes in the pegboard if you're OCD like me and want cable management. Run the cables through the larger holes and they never get in the way. Run the charging cables to some usb chargers. These are the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MO7JLZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Sure, this method takes a little effort. But once you get it set up, it basically runs itself and is very easy to maintain.
I'm using something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Stock-Your-Home-Electronics-Organizer/dp/B000Y1L1MQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1467738211&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=phone+charging+station&psc=1
along with a 4 port and a 2 port charger.
