im using the app pedometer which is basically for walking(my job consists of walking 5/8 hours and it does the job wonderfully
im wondering if im better off with with a fitbit or another app
im also looking for an app for the van
it logs my whereabouts via a map of some sort and spouts out statistics about the journey
I know this is relatively ancient, but I had a similar issue: the Pedometer app on my phone doesn't refresh the step count often enough, it can get stuck, but if one dismisses the app from Recents, it'll update.
So, I invoke it:
then read the value:
com.taytau.tau.pedometer:id/tvStepsValue=:=stepcount()
Then I do some fiddling with the value. Then, to kill it:
Pedometer
, Near:Pedometer
)The last two steps (Dpad Up+Press) trigger the Remove from list. I didn't see them from you, but OTOH, they do require root. Maybe this would work for you, too, if you haven't yet conquered it. I remember some recent video by /u/Ratchet_Guy showing some quick dismisses, but since I have neither TouchWiz nor 5.x, I can't use his method.
¿alguien usa alguna app "cuenta pasos"? si la respuesta es sí, ¿cuál recomiendan?
yo usaba esta pero un día se me dio por contar los pasos y la app me tiraba de más.. MUCHO de más..
I have an issue with UI Query too. I try to get a pedometer reading but the required field doesn't show up. So I have the task retry a few times then give up if %qtime > 60, which often (but not always) works.
I don't have a lot of confidence in AutoInput, as every time it does this, it creates 3 errors in the Errors/Warnings log (menu / Preferences / MISC / Popup Errors/Warnings).
downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tayu.tau.pedometer&hl=en for android, gonna give it a try first cos i'm cheap

Conveniently enough, it is just called pedometer.
Here is a link to pedometer in the play store( I'm not sure if it is on Apple though): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tayu.tau.pedometer
It is called pedometer. I love it. I just started using it more frequently. It is free and it is really battery efficient.

Don't know about "the best", but I've been using Pedometer
This, but really any will do
Mine is a task that I run at the start and end of when I take my cat for a walk.
Obviously there's more to it than that (e.g. Wi-Fi and accelerometer enabling/disabling, sound disabling if late at night, another profile+task that adds a "Still walking" notification of the current duration and step count if the device rebooted while on a walk in case the battery died, another profile that periodically checks if I'm on a walk but turned the phone off in case I forgot to run the end task, which alert methods vary based on phone orientation, a profile that asks if I'm starting a walk if it detects a particular pair of bluetooth headphones have connected, and a few tasks specifically check whether we're on a walk or not to determine how to proceed...)
I use this one , it's simple and easy, I believe it has ads but it's not really a problem for me.
A simple Pedometer?
So before I go back to school, I'm working as a Canvasser. We aren't one of the shady ones though. IF we ask for donations they only have to be $5+ and you can do a one-time contribution or a monthly/yearly subscription which keeps us going since we are an independent-non-partisan group and funding from our member's donations, as small as $5, helps a lot.
Anyway we canvass for 5 hours a day helping make our state better by reaching out to folks that live in local districts. Our goal is to spend less than 2min at the door.
OKAY now that that's over, I feel like I walk A LOT in those my hours, often uphill , in the blistering heat or oh so popular rain in my state. My fellow canvasser had a pedometer app that said he walked almost 8 miles and burned 1,750 calories during one shift.
Does anyone know of a pedometer app that tracks, steps, miles walked, and calories burned? I just downloaded"
