Yes, just use an audio player that includes an updated Opus codec, like PlayerPro or Neutron Player.
I have to agree. Even my Zune software can sort that way (yes I still use my Zune software, I don't care, I love it).
I just reinstalled my old favotire, PlayerPro, and it appears to sort the way you want. It seems to sort 'The' right also. I just personally don't like the dark theme.

Kruidnoten VS pepernoten is geen discussie
Dit zijn kruidnoten
Dit zijn pepernoten
And you can pry my pepernoten from my cold dead hands
I've used PlayerPro for a couple of years now. The free trial just gives you the occasional add, but I never found them intrusive. I got the payed version a while ago, no big differences but I wanted to pay for something I use so much.
Hey sorry, my bad. I should have added a link to my original comment. Here's the link to the free version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tbig.playerprotrial I paid for the pro version about 6-7 years ago. Lol
PlayerPro is my favorite. It can take some configuring to get libraries read correctly, but once it's set, it's easy to navigate even 10k+ libraries. With Poweramp, I find myself accidentally exiting, and just couldn't get it to feel right.
PlayerPro has a neat DSP addon that enables equalizer settings and whatnot, as well. There's a trial version, and the full version is $5.
This is probably one of the biggest pet peeves I've ever had with an electronic device. The rage I had, dude, and I tried about 4-5 different players to no avail. The best app I found that allows you to customize so much, including whether you want the album art to show up, is PlayerPro music app. And getting this app is the only way I've found to remove this lock screen ugliness. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear, e.g. you're attached to a favorite music app already.
I love this app because it has an intuitive UI that doesn't try to do too much, but it looks clean, especially with the flatty yellow skin (it's free). Of course, most importantly, it allows you to use the lock screen you created in System Settings, and gives you a choice of a small or rich notification in the lock screen with the usual play, stop, advance track, etc. Simply good shit (although I hear not the super duper best audiophile amp settings. It does have all those dials and stuff and is probably above average, but I hear it's just not blow your ears away audiophile engineering).

For use the same App on Android and a PC, maybe try MediaMonkey (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ventismedia.android.mediamonkey
Synchro online (Cloud) playlist from ... on PC/Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playmoss
And with Spotify? or Last.fm?
Hi, I just switched last week so i can give you some of my experiences.
First I had a HELL of a time switching over because my Youtube account is from 2007. Any account made before the Google buyout had to go through migration to Google sign in process and is therefor listed as a "branded account" no matter what you do. The problem is Branded accounts are not supported for the migration of libraries. After 3 different support techs I finally able was to develop a workaround which I detailed in this post.
Now if you are not a legacy account user then your migration could be very simple.
If you are you can follow the steps in that post to get all of your playlists HOWEVER... after taking a look I can say that this method does not import any songs you manually uploaded from a computer to your google play music. So if you have a bunch of uploaded songs from CD's its safe to say you might have to re-upload those.

As for the experience well the player at first did NOT have a swipe to skip track and i complained about it but since that post which was like a week ago it just started working. So that is no longer an issue. The player itself isnt bad. It feels like i have less options while playing music. You can still swipe down to get to playlists which is nice.

The biggest thing I have noticed that i dont like is that YTM has squares for album art... whereas GPM filled the whole screen. So for me Google play looked a lot better than Youtube Music does. This is purely graphical though and does not impact the overall use of the app so i guess its ok however I am going to request an option for full screen art.

The next biggest thing that is missing from YTM is the ability to identify a song by letting the app listen to it. GPM you could click search and then click "Identify whats playing" and it would search for the song like that. I used this feature a lot so im going to be trying to get that added to the app through the suggestion feature. GPM had it so it only makes sense that YTM should have it if its going to be the superior program.
The integration to Youtube is nice though. Now all my playlists for music appear on my lists in youtube. So if i find a new song on youtube i can simply click add and add that song to a playlist without searching for it in GPM again. Then.. since I added it from youtube there is an option to watch the video at the top. Most of the songs that were already in my playlists dont have videos though as they were probably not associated with youtube links however the new stuff I have been adding does so that is a solid bonus.
Overall I would say the transition wasnt painless and not without its drawbacks but at this point there are not any other options other than switching platforms. Since google has tried to integrate itself so much into everything it just makes it easier to stay with YTM than switch to spotify. If you are content on owning all of your music then there is a really good music player called Player Pro that I used when i ran all of my music on a micro SD card on my phone. This doesnt have any internet service requirements and just runs your media. Its like the Plex of music apps. Although you lose the ease of just simply searching for a song and purchasing it. Although it seems easier and cheaper just to pay the subscription to YTM 9.99 isnt much for unlimited access to their entire library. especially if you are spending money buying songs on the regular.
Good Luck with the switch. The switch wont be painless but it has to be done. I dont know what date GPM will go offline but they said this year it will stop working so you got 5 months at best.
PlayerPro has a great smart playlist manager, you can set rules, maybe you'll be able to set something like this with it
