If you actually want to understand how to use it, then you're going to need to dedicate years of your life to learning the math behind it, the physics that lead up to it, the basics of it, and then deeper modern parts of it.
If you just want to understand concepts from quantum mechanics, then there are some great ways for laymen to get a decent understanding of what's going on. I highly recommend this Android app and Dr. Susskind's video lectures on Youtube.
In a deterministic universe, if you know everything happening in the present, you can predict what will happen in the future. This means that everything has a pre-existing cause, and doesn't happen spontaneously. Using free will as an example, in a deterministic universe, you can predict exactly how a person will act based on factors like their past experiences and their brain structure. The same applies for things like rolling dice.
In contrast, there is no way to predict quantum randomness. It is entirely spontaneous. It is not predetermined, therefore it is non-deterministic. There's an Android app that explains it better than I can: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brychta.stepan.quantum_en&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dstepan+brychta+quantum&pcampaignid=APPU_1_i0GhXJCCM4zatAWX_q_QBA
There is an app Quantum. Download it and go through it. It will give you an overview without any mathematics. The whole Quantum mechanics is summarised for beginners. My advice is to go through it first before reading any other book. It will take you not more than few hours. I am sure after you finish this, you will find it much easier. Thank me later.
I found a neat Android app that does a reasonably good job of demystifying the whole quantum physics tangle of theory by breaking it up into really small chunks.
I'll admit that I got about 2/3s of the way through it before my brain broke, but I found it pretty useful.

For anyone who wants a basic intro to Quantum mechanics, there's an app (on Android at least) that goes through some of the basic concepts. For me it was pretty interesting, and didn't take too long to go through. It briefly covers quantum computing as well, and mentions how they will only work for certain problems.

Maybe too simple I haven’t used myself:

You can try this app - QUANTUM

This might help a bit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brychta.stepan.quantum_en
I recommend this amazing app that teaches the basics and history of quantum mechanics. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brychta.stepan.quantum_en
