TLDR: I've used the Real Drum app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.com.rodrigokolb.realdrum) to learn basic drum sequences and then repeated them in Paradiddle, it works great for me and I can drum a meaningful sequence, not just produce some noice.
You can download drum machine apps for phones as well. I have a few on my phone. There are a bunch of different ones to choose from. I use one called Real Drum. The free version has ads, but I paid the $3 or whatever to remove them. Depending on the speed of your processor, it might have some latency issues, but it's a lot of fun. You can record, save and play back the rhythms you create.

Have you tried this one? Just tested it and no lag. Has recording feature, and some.preset drum beats. Also a looping feature.
I see. Then can you please test this app? Is the response (Audio + touch) good enough for real time audio producing? (I actually played drums on the iPhone once, while connected to external speakers, to accompany a guitarist and the results were incredible)
