Basically means you can use YouTube even when screen is locked, a feature I used so I could pocket my phone without music stopping etc

You could use this. If you have an amoled display it's kinda like having your screen off. There are a lot of negative comments because the app tells you to put on accessibility mode for the hardware buttons. You don't have to give it access to that, you can just set it up with the notification option.
It doesn't save much power since the game is still running and the sprites are still active.
