If you don't have Lollipop, You could try this - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benhirashima.skiplock
You can setup WiFi or Bluetooth connections and it'll disable your lockscreen when you are connected to them.
The downside to this is the Lockscreen can only be PIN or Password.
Smart Lock is baked into Lollipop. You just go into Settings > Lock screen > Smart Lock to setup a trusted device/place/face/voice.
When I was on KitKat, I used SkipLock to unlock when my watch was paired, or if I was on my home WiFi. Its a great app, and the dev was really responsive (he even put through a change I requested).
I was thinking of the same thing. The secure unlock with my android wear watch isn't consistent and I was thinking of some way to use SkipLock since that worked great on my GS4, but it requires a PIN.

So... something like cleverpin on iOS (jailbroken only, obv., and the only one I've used) or skiplock on android? I can't guarantee the security of any of those against a knowledgeable attacker (I haven't looked into how they work, exactly), but then there aren't many of those.
Pre 5.0 I would recommend: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benhirashima.skiplock
SkipLock works for me

When they release the Lollipop-update you can enable "smart lock" instead, it's the same thing just build in android.
SkipLock works with trusted Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sources... Easy to use too. No need to reinvent the wheel.
