I have been trying to get an exemption from Google Play for my app listed at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder
The app's core functionality is to forwards SMS, MMS, and incoming calls; absolutely nothing else, and yet, I'm still struggling to get an exemption from Google. On their last e-mail response they stated:
>The declared feature ( Cross-device call or SMS sync & send ) is allowed; but not approved for the specific permissions you’ve requested ( RECEIVE_MMS )
How is this possible? Does that mean that the other permissions are fine? How can they be OK exempting the `RECEIVE_SMS` permission, but not `RECEIVE_MMS`.
Has anyone had any luck communicating with anyone responsive at Google who took your Permissions Declaration Form seriously?
Leave a phone plugged in in the United States and install a text message forwarding app. You could try to get it to send the codes forwarded over email too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder
Unfortunately, because any SMS will always come through Ting's carriers' networks, Ting would be charged for them (and in turn it would subtract a message from your SMS bucket).
If you want the SMS to forward to a computer still for reasons other than cost, on Android at least there are some apps for that; for example...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder&hl=en
Install sms forwarder app in mobile. And configure the settings to automatically forward incoming SMS to email id. Whenever a new sms is received this app will automatically forward that message to that email id. Add that email id in all of your devices. So whenever new sms is forwarded to that email all devices receives a notification. Link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder
Call forwarding on Sprint
Unconditional Call Forwarding - forwards all calls and incoming calls not received and is charged at $0.20 per minute unless you're on an UNLIMITED Simply Everything plan
To activate Unconditional Call Forwarding: Press *72 Enter the 10-digit phone number to forward the calls to Press Talk Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is turned on To deactivate Unconditional Call Forwarding: Press *720 Press Talk Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is turned off
For SMS ; nothing from Sprint side; better to install a 3rd party app as a temporary measure: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder&hl=en
Not suggesting this one - YMMV - used a similar one that is no longer on the play store when I had to roll to a temp line while traveling once. It will require your sprint phone to be on but just set it to silent mode
The best option is going to be to get an APP on your S6 like SMS Forwarder
It will take the messages you get on your S6 and email them to an account you specify. Then just add that email account to your Iphone and you are good to go.
What did you try?
Funny enough, automatic text message forwarding is part of the GSM standard, but it doesn't seem like any carrier has implemented it (automatic call forwarding is part of the standard as well, which seems to be implemented across the board with carriers).
I'm sure there's some reputable apps in the play store that will do this for you... that's probably the easiest approach. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder&hl=en is the first one that came up--never used it, so use at your own peril).
Anything particular you're looking to try out or have concerns with? Project Fi uses T-Mobile as the primary carrier, so there shouldn't be much of a difference.
I haven't tried it, but here's one of many apps that do what you want: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.yas.freeSmsForwarder
Yes, there are several Android apps that auto forward text messages, including to email addresses, like that:

iPhone's have their own workaround:
