Let's see if I can't overload the bot now, shall we?
I'm manually linking Soul Unleashed RPG because the bot always invariable fails to link something else.
And Kemco RPGs Play Store home.
Linkme: PPSSPP, DraStic, ePSXe, Anomaly Warzone Earth, Minecraft Pocket Edition, Exiles Zero, CounterSpy, Star Wars KoToR, LIMBO, Star Command, SimpleRockets, 80 Days, The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man 2, Shadowrun Dragonfall, Battlestation Harbinger, Aralon Sword and Shadow, Ravensword Shadowlands, Aralon Forge and Flame, Deep Dungeons of Doom, The Room Two, Lifeline, This War of Mine, Infinite Flight, F18 Carrier Landing II
Soul Unleashed of which there is also a lite demo version.
And PPSSPP, because playing Star Wars Battlefront trumps Flappy Bird any day!
Soul Unleashed. Easy to play for less than 10 mins at a time, although you will need to hit a save point if you don't want progress being wiped out. Also has a free demo.
Uh...maybe Soul Unleashed? I tried the lite/demo version out and it seemed pretty interesting, so that being cheap would be cool.
Soul Unleashed comes to mind, although I haven't gotten very far so I can't say just how well the story line develops further in. It's managed to fascinate me so far.
Just started playing a pen and paper RPG called Soul Unleashed, pretty decent and I'm hooked on it now.
1) I personally don't own any BT controllers (PS3 w/ OTG cable is my setup), but I hear some great things about the MOGAs - not sure if you're N5/N9 will work with them though.
2) The Anomaly Warzone series is Tower Offense, while Anomaly Defenders is Tower Defense. 80 Days has aspects of strategy, but it's probably a different genre. CounterSpy, will ask for internet but it doesn't need it (only for leaderboards). Mines of Mars, decidedly lacking in story (if you've ever played Motherload on Miniclip, it's like that) but still fun. SimpleRockets, it's a 2D version of Kerbal Space Program (almost), 'nuff said. Haegemonia: Legions of Iron is a real-time strategy game, has a learning curve. Soul Unleashed is a pen & paper RPG which I've found to be pretty decent. Also, emulators (check /r/emulationonandroid sidebar wiki for a list).
3) Monument Valley and the Anomaly games both have achievements, MV having the biggest and easiest ones.
On a totally unrelated note; I thought I was doing good at level 15. I feel like a filthy casual now. -.-"
Linkme: Anomaly Warzone, 80 Days, CounterSpy, Mines of Mars, SimpleRockets, Haegemonia, Monument Valley.
And a normal link to Soul Unleashed, since the bot thinks it's something else.
Anomaly Warzone series (Earth, 2, Korea, and Anomaly Defenders).
Modern Combat 4. Admittedly a Gameloft one, but the campaign/graphics aren't all that bad.
Exiles: Far Colony. Open-world sci-fi RPG by Cresent Moon Games (they made Ravensword). Fun game, rather intense on the battery drain though. I have the Humble Bundle version, so I can't comment on the Play Store version.
Soul Unleashed RPG. It's an RPG, that's as best as I can describe it. There's a lite version if you want to give it a go.
Emulators.
DraStic for Nintendo DS emulation.
PPSSPP for PSP emulation, if you're device is up to snuff.
ePSXe for PS1 and PSX emulation, mileage may vary with device.
Linkme: Anomaly Warzone, Modern Combat 4, DraStic, PPSSPP, ePSXe, Exiles Far Colony
Exiles: Far Colony
Aralon: Sword & Shadow
Aralon: Forge & Flame
Ravensword Shadowlands --- All offline open-world RPG games.
Soul Unleashed -- A kind of turn-based DnD-equse RPG. Has a lite version for you to test out - IAPs aren't required or intrusive.
PPSSPP -- A PSP emulator. There's so many PSP games out there that my fingers would fall off before I could type them all here. Be sure to tweak around in the settings for optimal performance.
DraStic -- DS emulator. I've lost count of all the RPG DS games there are, but ye won't be lacking them for some time.
Linkme: Exiles Far Colony, Aralon Sword and Shield, Aralon Forge and Flame, Ravensword Shadowlands, PPSSPP, DraStic
Not sure if it'll scratch your itch but I hear some good things about the Final Fantasy series. If you don't mind JRPGs there's always the Kemco RPG games, and I recently found a pen & paper RPG called Soul Unleashed.
Not sure what RPG classification these two fall under, but I hear a lot of good stuff about Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery and Knights of Pen & Paper.
Linkme: Final Fantasy, Kemco RPGs, Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery, Knights of Pen & Paper. Soul Unleashed link, since the play store bot doesn't seem to recognize this game.
Facepalm Soul Unleashed, not Enigmatis 2. Oh most useful bot, will thou ever cease to troll me?
Soul Unleashed. Forgot to add there's also a Lite version, if you want to test it out first.
Soul Unleashed is great; its a turn based RPG with a strange gameplay mechanic of shuffling your available attacks and skills. I'm not sure what Tabletop RPG feel like but your skill set can have the potential to change the game's plot or at least there are hidden elements that you can discover depending on the time of day. There's also a shitload of customization where you can learn generic attack/defense/support skills and also a lot of unique passive skills like cooking/lore/detect-magic/light/conjure miracles that can potentially be important on the long run...especially on adventures lasting for more than a day. There's a free version that gives you a good glimpse on what the game is like, you can even create your own character and have access to a few quests.

I've been playing a pretty good amount of Soul Unleashed lately, captures a pretty good bit of that visual-novel type feeling, if you know what I mean by that. Reminds me of Class of Heroes on the PSP combined with traditional tabletop RPG gameplay. There's a very strong "party" vibe with the random adventures you meet on your quest, with a good bit of chatter and collaboration. The character building is a little uncomfortably left to fate at times, but it adds a bit of replayability so I guess I can give it a pass in that respect. Absolutely worth the high cost of entry for me. There are IAPs in there somewhere, but from what I've seen they're nowhere near as in your face as a lot of games tend to make them. A free version is also available if you're interested, and the save will transfer over.
Soul Unleashed. It's an RPG, portrait mode, pretty easy to use with only one hand. There's a Lite version you can try for free.
80 Days. Another portrait game, based off of Jules Verne's novel, 80 Days. Very unique game, definitely fun to play.
Monument Valley. I think this one needs no introduction. It's available for free on Amazon Underground (includes all IAP/DLCs).
Lifeline. Like an interactive story book, I personally enjoyed it. Note: Lifeline and Lifeline Silent Night are in the same "series". Lifeline 2 is with different characters/setting.
The Martian is in the same vein as Lifeline. Never played it so I can't say how good the story is.
Personally I recommend this RPG the most, as it's pretty good. ^^^^Pls ^^^^don't ^^^^kill ^^^^me
First off, open world RPGs.
Soul Unleashed. I'm not really sure how to describe this RPG style, because it's the first I've seen of this type. There's a Lite version for free if you want to test it.
Ravensword: Shadowlands. Open world 3D RPG, probably the closest to Skyrim on your phone that we're getting in a while. Not stellar, but decent.
Aralon: Sword and Shadow. Same devs as Ravensword. Also open world RPG, free on on Amazon Underground (or it was last I checked).
Aralon: Forge and Flame. Another open world RPG (brace yourself, there's more to come). Can't say how good it is, but most people seem to like it from what I read.
Exiles: Far Colony. Last of the (android) open world RPGs that I'll recommend. All the other Crescent Moon RPGs were fantasy, Exiles is a sci-fi setting. Not sure how good the Play store version is as I got the Humble Bundle one (mostly outdated).
Now for a few more traditional-ish ones.
Star Wars: KoToR. It's Star Wars, 'nuff said. Smack that download button like you're life depends on it.
Shadowrun Returns.
Shadowrun: Dragonfall. I don't remember if this is a complete mission and return to menu game or not, since I only played half of the first mission of Dragonfall. Infiltrated target, got in, etc....Game whopped my ass on easiest mode three minutes in. Still haven't recovered enough HP yet.
Lastly; emulators.
PPSSPP. A PSP emulator, works excellently (although you may have to tweak a few settings in it). There's a ton of good RPGs for the PSP out there, but I'm not going to recommend any.
DraStic. A DS emulator, also lots of good RPGs for the DS out there. [Infinite Space for the DS comes to mind, though it's not 100% RPG.]
Linkme: soul unleashed.
Edit: bad bot

Here are some games that may get you hooked on. Yes they're all portrait mode games.

Its currently 0.99 for the first 5000 buyers, I've never played a pen & paper RPG before but this one has quite the immersive world. The RPG elements are one of the most unique things about this game. You play as a total nobody with an ambition and a choice of skills that determine both your playstyle and the game's progression. You and 3 other randomly chosen party members set foot in adventures to stuff from Forests and other Towns to Dungeons and Catacombs. Its basic D&D esque stuff with a little more freedom of choice with skills that determine your playstyle like Magic Missiles, Combat Skills, and Healing Spells and also skills that might come in handy in your adventures like Locksmith, Summon Light, and Detect Evil. Oh and the game pretty linear.

If agar.io hooks your on this is an offline alternative with a lot of game modes and bot support.
Landscape (Its a portrait game I swear) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voidgames.landscapegame
A pretty nice village building game that reminds me of Townsmen on the old J2me mobile phones. You basically lead a town with different needs and stuff. Feeding your citizens with bread, coffee, and religious fervor. This one is a little more complex in that you need to be careful in the resources you'll spend for the resources you need which is always a breather when you think about how most games like this tend to have a bare bones supply and demand system. Basically you can't make a self-sustaining city from the get go, you need to think ahead and plan your resources wisely which is something not a lot of mobile city management pull off. The graphics are nice too....basically crossy chicken with a calming and gentle theme.
