This is fake. Team Kodi has said repeatedly that they will not/cannot post Kodi to the play store because Google will not accept it.

The only only version of Kodi that is on the playstore is a fork by a current kodi developer that was made especially for the oyua (see here

Don't see why not. SPMC has been on there for a while now and that's just a fork of XBMC, very similar in terms of functionality, if not the same.

Thanks for the interesting input. As for the launcher: It's not ugly, it's downright hideous. I just installed Nova Launcher and off I went.

Minix does have an updated xbmc version:

I installed it and it seemed much better than the one that came pre-installed but for some reason I still chose to go for kodi from the playstore. It's nice that you can run them side by side to compare. Let me know what you think if you feel like giving it a go.

If anything, you will need to sideload the Kodi Application.. You could look that up, or if you can get to the app store then try installing this :

It might be worth you trying out SPMC (Gotham version) or (Helix version).

Have you tried SPMC? It's a fork by one of the Kodi team. It's still on XBMC, but does run better than the official version.
