Wrong. It depends on the app you used. I was using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jakewharton.telecine And ADV Screen Recorder previously And audio works fine. Recorded some videos as a test with it: https://youtu.be/ilZjEKwt4Yc
Personally I use Telecine for recording screenshot-videos. But you need to record a part of the screen. Hmmm, I'll have to look into whether this is even possible or not.
Off the top of my head, an alternative could be to simply crop the video to the bit that you want. Do you mind telling me why you'd like to do this? Understanding the exact use case would help :)
Using boosted warriors on Tropical Terror I finally managed to get under 4 minutes. Previous best was 4:00 exactly.
Due to a bug/incompatibility with Boom Beach in the latest version of Telecine no video sadly :(
Yes, adb
included directly into application, so application does not require downloading Android SDK.
Also, I found it more convenient than taking screenshots/videos via Android Studio.
Btw, there is also good app for taking videos directly on Android device/emulator from Jake Wharton — Telecine https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jakewharton.telecine
I personally use Telecine but there is this annoying bug that makes my phone lag tremendously after recording. Only way to fix it is a reboot. (I assume the bug has to do with the overlay)
So I'll try AZ Screen and see if that's any better.
Check out Telecine by Jake Wharton. It's free and open source.

You could use Jake Wharton's Telecine as well.
