Oh my god, abode is cheating on us! LOL!
I'm sometimes a little too curious for my own good, so I did some googling.
Here's their website: http://www.teroshome.com/
All the website will do is take your email address and say "Thanks!".
Here is the app in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abode.asurion&rdid=com.abode.asurion
I found it really odd that they listed "Catholics have a tradition" in the app description under "Your protection is ensured with...".
You can create an account in the app or online portal at https://sasurion.goabode.com/#/login
At the bottom of that login page you can see: Powered by asurion, Designed by abode
It will let you create an account, but it will take you to a Gateway Activation page that wants you to enter your gateway activation key. I tried entering in my abode activation key and it didn't work. :(
Here's a few screen-caps from the app: https://imgur.com/gallery/eCPp8
The only place I know asurion from is phone insurance, so I checked out their website to see what they offer in terms of security and professional monitoring. I didn't find anything in that vein, but I found their Soluto Service, which is basically live tech support within an app.
So, my guess is that Teros is the same thing as abode, but it's designed to have tech support built into it provided by asurion's Soluto Service, which they're calling "TerosHelp Guardian" inside the Teros app.
This make sense from the perspective that abode has basically been getting swamped with tech support requests because their system is so complex, and many people aren't really true DIY'ers. Right now abode only offers 3 tech support options; In the basic plan you get "Customer support via email and support site", in the Connect plan you get "Phone and email customer support", and in the Connect plus Secure plan you get "Premium customer phone support".
Also, it looks like Teros does not give you an option for a basic free monitoring plan because the app features says "CSAA 5 Diamond Certified central stations with around-the-clock professional home monitoring, Automatic backup even if internet is down", which sounds like the Connect plus Secure abode plan. However, it does say there's "No Contracts", so maybe you just get the free service by default if you cancel.
Lastly, just my opinion, but their logo looks like an outhouse. What were they thinking?
