If you're having trouble meditating, try this guided meditation app called Mindfulness. It can be really hard to block off your mind's chatter, but with a guided meditation, it can help you get into a good headspace to then do some witchcraft. :)

Or I use this app. It has a wide variety of options that are free to use. -https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.lichtenstein.mind.en
I like the Mindfulness app (for Android, dunno about iOS).
You can start with for instance like a guided 15min session and a nice voice takes you through the whole thing.
Increase to 30 mins when you feel like it and eventually you can just do it in your own if you want.
Don't put on music, you won't need it. You'll be asked to listen to any and all ambient sounds and for me that's when "it" really hit me, I think.
This one. It's not free, but it's reasonable, and it's good. You can buy extra meditations as well for specialised purposes, but it comes with a good set of general ones.
