>Time-tracking software? We don't have the budget for that. What are you, crazy?
So, if you're still tracking going forward I do have a recommendation for those using Android:
It can generate reports and stuff that can be exported to excel possibly making your lives a bit easier at the personal tracking level. Also is pretty easy to flip between tasks and the like. I used it when contract and I still use it even salaried (you don't need to put in billable rates).
Universal app for keeping track of one's work hours, tasks, etc. and create reports for supervisors or customers.
I just switched from Android and I'm reeeally missing Time Recording Pro. Check this app out if you want an example of how to do this really well.
This is something I've considered doing myself, but it would take a lot of time for me to develop given that I'm a complete novice with this sort of thing.
I am a self employed software developer, and the one app the is an absolute lifesaver for me is called Time Recording Pro : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dynamicg.timerecording.pro
There is a free version, but the Pro is around $3 and was worth every penny IMO.
It can be configured every which way, integrates with my google calendar, and google drive.
I just hit a button to start timing a task. Initially setting the client and project, then add notes to the tasks as I work on them.
At the end of each week, I can see everything that I worked on in my google calendar, and hit a button to generate csv reports for each client that are uploaded to google drive, that I then scrape to generate my invoices and time sheets.
As long as you get into the habit of pressing the button as you work on tasks, it turns doing timesheets and invoices at the end of each week into something that takes just 10-15 mins, instead of several hours that it used to for me.

I use Time Recording Pro (Android only.) I love it. There's a bit of a learning curve, but it's highly configurable and has lots of ways to view and export data. Some very useful plugins too. The widget makes it very easy to clock in and out and switch between projects. I have mine set to round off to the nearest 15 minute increment, but you can customize that however you like.

Simple ui if you want it to be simple. Can track customer projects and all that. And, of course, syncs to your calendar if you like.
I'm currently using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dynamicg.timerecording.pro It is made for personnel use but you can export it really easy into Excel. Excel can be imported really easy an also more or less automated into Access. It's no professional solution, but an idea that's quick to realize.
I've been using Time Recording Pro for years. Don't know about qbo sync, but it has Google Drive and Dropbox integration, and has billing settings as well. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to bridge the gap with a couple scripts.
I use to use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dynamicg.timerecording.pro I thought it was brilliant and has got good reviews
Have you tried time recording the tasker plugin?
