a traceroute basically is a set of pings following the path of the data along the IP Route. Think of it in terms of phoning ahead to each place you stop at on a trip and making sure that it is there and responding.
Here is an app for android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scan.traceroute&hl=en
If you have an apple product, or an MS product I suppose do a search in their respective stores.
You can use this app to see where the phone is getting stuck up.
Hope this helps good luck.
Oh, ok. A network between -70 to -90 is considered weak (-100 worst). So they shouldn't cause you a problem.
You can download:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scan.traceroute
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.he.networktools
And run a Traceroute or progressive traceroute. You can use as an example: google.com
Do you see some abnormal variation or is it just at very random times?
What number of devices are normally connected by Wi-Fi in your home? Maybe some AndroidTV or game console that may have small traffic bursts or some equipment that saturates the entire upload for a few seconds.
Can you run this app (just enter reddit.com and press Trace) and copy results here?
