What is Reddit's opinion of Transsistant for PRESTO card?

Not sure where you are getting the hate from, I haven't seen it.

I love my Presto. No more worrying about tokens, I have it set up to automatically reload (at $10, so it still has 3 fares on it, then adds some cash). I have gotten annoyed a couple of times when I've wanted to get on at a station that doesn't yet have the readers (seriously, what is up with that....streetcars and buses, I get, but ALL TTC stations should have been equipped with Presto readers within months of implementing the system!). That has resulted in minor inconvenience (including 1 cash fare, 2 "thank god I have a token in my bag" and one lovely incident where the TTC fare person waved me through).

There are apps for Presto (since OP didn't know this) for managing reloads, and viewing current balance (though it doesn't show up until you update it on the Presto network by actually using the card).

I expect eventually, something like the Starbucks cards will be implemented (where you have an actual card, but you can use the app to generate a bar code to pay). That would be nice, but it doesn't really make a difference to me.
