The Ultimate NES guide by Pat Contri (Pat the NES Punk) is really excellent.

The book is very expensive but the app is cheap and has mainly the same content: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.embraceware.ultimatenes - you can also order the games by rating/user rating, year, genre etc, making it better than the book in many ways.
I found it (the app, I don't have the book) well worth the money. He's in the process of compiling a SNES one too.
