Hey everybody, I just released a beta app upTempo. It is a complete fitness tracker(including automatic sleep monitoring with a smartwatch). Please take a look at the play store listing for full feature list.
It is a complete fitness tracker with background and active tracking features that work with as many devices as possible (Pebble, Android Wear and Bluetooth LE devices right now, all supported but not necessary; works well with just the phone). You can track yourself with your devices and upTempo will intelligently merge all the data from all the available sensors into a single activity stream.
And you control your data. All your fitness data stays on your phone; migration can be performed using encrypted backups.
Thanks!
Hey everybody, I was looking for feedback on upTempo. It is a complete fitness tracker with automatic sleep monitoring. Please take a look at the play store listing for full feature list.
I started developing this more than a year back. The aim was to have a complete fitness tracker with background and active tracking features that work with as many devices as possible (Pebble, Android Wear and Bluetooth LE devices right now, all supported but not necessary; works well with just the phone). Another important thing is that the data is controlled by the user. The implementation is serverless, the data stays on the phone and all the analysis is performed on the device itself.
This was my first real app, and it has grown far beyond what I originally intrended. But I am happy with how it is turning out and would be very happy to receive any feedback. Thanks!
My app, upTempo, is currently in beta testing. It is compatible with the Pebble HR sensor, and seems to be working well.
I am beta testing an app: upTempo. It is a privacy aware fitness tracking app, though not open source. It works with Android Wear and Pebble watches.
Pebble has a few other sleep tracking apps too, but Pebble has ceased production so be careful. You can use Sleep As Android with Android Wear but it requires manually starting sleep mode.
There are other purpose-built wearables like the new Huawei Fit, but they all seem to want to tie you to their ecosystem.
