WOOHOOO!!! I found it! I feel like a google genius! I cropped out everything but the watch face, stretched it into a circle, searched on google images, and voila!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, enough bragging-get to the point, man! Okay, you're right, sorry. It's an app on the play store.
It's my own face I made with Pujie Black. You can get the watchface here.
They also updated the Connect app with a new design: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.targetnotif
Previously stock watch faces like Pascual did not show any calendar events anymore and they fixed this issue with this release, too. :)
Pujie Black is the one I've been rocking for a while. It's insanely customisable; you can make it look pretty much however you want.
Its a widget called Wear Charging Widget. The free version gets you access to changing the color, while displaying weather and date.
Sorry guys I was a lunch when I posted this....
Here is the info.
Purchase app here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stmp.minimalface
And download custom Little World here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1FW3IFLfaL9QWpKVTYwVk1XZDA&usp=sharing
Check out all the folders also they have some neat stuff but if your looking for Mario specific you can get it from the entertainment folder.
I believe it is Pujie Black. I may be wrong https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pujie.wristwear.pujieblack
The same developer also makes Pujie Red and Pujie Blue. They are somewhat similar
OP, stop linking to your personal website (or whatever that is). If you want to share it, direct link people to the watch face and post the code, and stop being a click bater.
I'm really into Krona Sunlight. you get the entire day's temperature, precipitation, weather conditions, battery level, and date, and yes, TIME all at a glance.
Seems to be a popular questions ha! Its a widget called Wear Charging Widget. The free version gets you access to changing the color, while displaying weather and date.
For all who are wondering, I'm from Australia and have been following the Moto 360 for a while.
I was never lucky enough to purchase on launch considering how quickly they went out of stock. I set up TunnelBear VPN on a VM (So my actual PC connection wouldn't be effected) and Page Monitor on the Grey model Google play page. I had done this previously but gave up after a few minutes however this time I got lucky and it went back to "In Stock" in about 5 minutes.
I'm shipping it to Shipito which will then be forwarded to Australia. I got very lucky, god speed everybody.
Any questions feel free to ask away.
It works on my Moto360 V1. I'm using Watchmaker and it comes through almost perfectly. I only had to move the date down a little bit and now it's good to go!
Having never owned a watch before, I quickly realized that analog watch faces had a strange effect on my memory. I would glance at the watch, "see" the time, look away, and instantly forget what time it was.
Because of that, I decided digital was the way to go. On that front this is, in my opinion, the cleanest, best looking watchface that doesn't show off the flat tire.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pizzaentertainment.weatherwatchface
Minimal & Elegant since day 1, now approaching 2 years with it and I still need no other face.(great options, fantastic custom community, and great battery life) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stmp.minimalface&hl=en
> Would love it if you could have 1 main watchface set, and a different for ambient.
If you're willing to take the time to do it, Watchmaker can do this. You can define visibility conditions (dim/ambient vs. bright) for each element individually.
Use ip webcam (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pas.webcam.pro) on an old Android phone, and keep tinycam (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alexvas.dvr.pro) on you main phone with the wear app.
If it helps, I've just added a big list of lots of voice commands that work. Some of them are quite good - I had no idea the watch did half of this stuff! https://medium.com/@JamesCridland/android-wear-voice-commands-for-your-smartwatch-the-missing-list-508e3bb583f0
I've been rocking Krona Sunlight for a while: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.marscity.sunlight&hl=en
Its great to glance at my watch and instantly be able to tell the weather throughout the next 24 hours period.
Check out "Find My Watch for Android Wear". Allows for finding with the microphone or with vibrate and flash. Hope it works for you! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ppltalkin.findmywatch
I'm in love with Wear Messenger, I think It's awesome (It may be bc I bought it with Google rewards money so it was technically free) But I love how I can reply to text be SMS or Facebook messenger (I think for Facebook Msn you need Xposed thou ) with just writing stuff in a tiny keyboard on my wrist, I think is awesome and love it so far.
I bought the pujie watch face and it's soooo good.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pujie.wristwear.pujieblack&hl=en
You can customise it loads and it's always updating. I haven't changed the face since. It is a paid app, but I bought it with all my free Google Opionin rewards moneyz. Worth it.
Shazam is pretty cool and I have a flappy bird clone which is shamefully fun when you're bored.
I find the pear watch face to be very minimalistic and looks great. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seapip.thomas.pear&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dpear+watch+face+google+play&pcampaignid=APPU_1_eDEiVdTKOpXtoASx3IDIAw
> This is currently impossible.
Except that it's not.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phonephreak.extendedlight
I think it's safe to assume that the OP is aware of battery drain and only wants it to stay on during the course of his run and not 24/7.
Apparently it is because of this rule. Which is a pretty far-reaching rule that apparently includes negative opinions.

Edit: Oh and I think you can still get to the thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/2fxe2t/its_hideous/
Here is the link to Vinyl watch face: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boost.vinyl
And this band: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKYCAGU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
But I don’t recomment to buy it, because it don’t pass by default — too big.
Here you can see tons of watches that are available. Hopefully you can find the style you want there. If not, you can always make your own faces. Watchmaker Premium is what I use, which also allows the import of Facer watch faces.
I use ambient mode, which keeps the face dimly lit rather than turning it off. With ambient on and tilt to wake off, I can easily get a full day out of the battery. It's usually off the charger by 8am, and still has ~30% battery when I put it on the charger before bed.
I believe you're correct. FWIW, I made an app called Cinch that lets you track your heart rate during a "workout", or just every so often during the day. The measurements get pushed to Google Fit, so you can view them in any Fit enabled app.
This is true for all lithium-ion batteries. I'm on mobile so I can't make neat links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168036
http://www.howtogeek.com/169669/debunking-battery-life-myths-for-mobile-phones-tablets-and-laptops/
Tried my best to measure with a ruler at work, here's what I found:
10.125 (10 1/8) inches total
9.56 inches from end to end of band (not including metal clasp thing)
8.75 inches from end (not including clasp) to biggest hole
Just under 6 inches from end (not including clasp) to smallest hole (bonus for small wristed people)
[EDIT] Cheap leather hole punch tool if anyone ends up needing to use it, it works well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NK5VY2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Hfhiub0RM4ZS5
The Moto 360 requires watch bands that have a notch cut out of them (entirely unnecessary, probably just to sell more watch bands.) Watch the youtube link below to see what I mean. The simple fix I did is just to simply cut/break off the plastic ridges in the band cavity that are preventing the strap from going in all the way. They are really easy to break off with a utility knife or screwdriver. Then any new watch band can go in easily as long as it's not too thick.
By the way, I have small wrists at 7" circumference.
This is the YouTube video I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uha1KfHLAEs&list=WL&index=10
This is the band on Amazon: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EFDTYMI
I changed mine out (a couple times actually, because I had to RMA my first for a cracked back). I picked up a watch spring bar tool off Amazon for less than $7. I can change out a band in a matter of a couple minutes - very little risk of damage or screwing it up. Go for it!
Edit: Here's a pretty good video on how to do it.
I find that usually the less "features" a watch face has, the better it is on battery. I'm using this watch face, and my battery life is pretty good.
I don't think there's much you can do really. You're limited by what Facebook offers in their app. Someone else might know otherwise.
I can only initiate sms messages with voice, so when I'm driving and need to contact my missus, I fall back to sms.
Edit : haven't tried it but https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appfour.wearmessages might be worth a look.
Been using Venom for awhile now. It has everything I need to glance at easily view able and most importantly has really good color customization. When I'm having my coffee at work in the morning I'll change the colors to match whatever I'm wearing.
Here's the link to Stuck Pixel Fixer
Shame, because I don't recall bumping the screen. Guess I gotta live with it.
I had this problem, and tried lots of different things and nothing solved it, so I created an app for this: Wear Black when Charging
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estamapps.wearblackwhencharging
This of course doesn't completely switches the screen off (I haven't found a way to do that), but instead it will show a black screen.
Other apps (like Slumber) didn't work for me, because the Moto charging app would launch on top of it.
I created a timeout so that the black screen would be launched after a few seconds (configurable).
Give it a try and let me know if you have any troubles.
This is about my experience. It's all about how the watch is configured. I tried one watch face that checked your heart rate every 15 min and got like 7-8 hours. Using the Minimal & Elegant watch face that has all the info I want (weather/temp, phone/watch battery, day/date/time) I can get more than 24 hours out of a charge.
Thanks! It's a Pujie Black watchface I made, here's the import code if you want it: click me :D
This is the application I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwork.wearable.heartratesync2
It works great and not huge drain on battery. The free version polls every 30 / 60 minutes. But you cannot export without the pro version.
Not an OLED so no way to do that but if you want simple and functional I would recommend checking out Pujie Black. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pujie.wristwear.pujieblack&hl=en
Related: You might have come across this awesome MTG Wear App that serves as a life counter and other things.
I emailed the dev a few weeks ago asking for Ambient Mode support, and he quickly added it! :D
Well worth the price, IMO.
just went through this dilemma about a week after the v2 launched.
uses for my watch: - regular watch stuff (derp) - music control - activity tracking - quick notifications while working/driving - camera shutter - 001% i shoot people (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spookyhousestudios.saloon.watch)
my biggest two dilemmas wasn't the speed, screen size, band options, but rather the battery life and cost.
I went with the v1 with a metal band and have worn it daily since. my wrist and wallet are very happy. I typically have about 30% battery life left when I plug in the device at night. on days i spend a lot of time outside it is more like 15%. also I have $150 more dollars...
You can install an app for checking battery usage called 'Wear Battery Stats' https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.npi.wearbatterystats&hl=de The batterylife really sounds terrible, from what I've read one day should be doable easily. Do you use the stock watchfaces and do you have lots of apps installed?
I think Feel The Wear: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.martinflorek.wear.feelthewear is the one everyone recommends.
Going from the Zenwatch to the Moto v2, the Moto v2 is actually pretty strong.
Some permissions migrated into the watch face by mistake. We are using them in the core application, which is the base for all other watch faces. Here is the list of used permissions:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" /> Needed to wake up wathces from sleep or ambient mode.
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_CALENDAR" /> We will provide calendar support soon. Currently it is only workpeaces of the core app, placed into every watch face.
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" /> Not used by this watchface, migrated by mistake. This permissions are used by the core app, which downloads from the network all our watch faces and allows to manage them (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boost.watchcore).
We are really sorry for that mistake and will fix it in the next few days. Thanks that you pointed on it and helped us getting better! Also in this update we will add 12/24 hours mode. Deadline for release is 14.11.2015.
Then it's most likely a stuck pixel. Not dead. Try the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.lab102.watchstuckpixels&hl=en
Change the refresh rate to be faster. Run it for a few minutes. If that doesn't fix it then RMA your device with Motorola. It's still within the 1 year warranty.
This is my favorite watch face. I've gone through a ton (including minimal & elegant, pujie black, some popular blue one, and many many others). I've settled on Krona Sunlight. So much information at-a-glance, so customizable. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.marscity.sunlight&hl=en
I've been using an application called Sync.ME for the past month or so, that's been able to pull the Facebook profile pictures for most of my contacts.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syncme.syncmeapp&hl=en
Hey man, I think your comment linking to the GP store probably got auto-removed by the automod for link shortening or something. Here it is for other folks who, like me, wanted this one (:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rabbitstudio.watchface.prwatch
i use an app called class timer. only real downside for you is that you cant just set a 15 minute tihng on a whim. you have to plan it out.
one app I made does that, and just that.
Even works while in theatre mode btws.!
Just make sure to start it on your watch once after installing (open it, use it, close it) - this had to be done since 5.1.1 in order to initialise it. After that you can forget about it (even if you restart your watch... it'll be active "forever" after the initial start).
It's free, so there's no harm in trying :)
second recommendation for pujie black
one seriously customizable face and every update has added even more cool features
This doesn't specifically answer your question, but I use the Pomodoro technique at work (also a software dev). With the Pomodoro technique, you work in 25 minutes sprints, then take 3-5 minute break. That's a good time to stand up.
Here's the wear app I use for Pomodoro tracking: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.bonysoft.wearpomodoro
Get Dresswatch. It allows you to take a photo with you phone and copy the colors to your watch. Perfect when you want your watch to match your tie or something similar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meedori.dresswatch&hl=en
Unifed remote can do this, and it has functions that can be controlled via the watch. Let me test it and get back to you.
edit: Yes! It can, you'll have to place the Google Play controls in the Quick Actions on your notification blind, but then they'll be accessible by the watch :)
also, link would help
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Relmtech.Remote&hl=en_GB
I've been using Skymaster for a while now, I absolutely love it. It has everything I need in a clean layout on the face: time, date, day of the week, a quick glance at the current weather/temp, and watch battery level. You can customize some other stuff too. Definitely worth the $0.99.
i use My Data Manager. Android Wear shows up as an app and that's what is downloading all of the stuff to your phone. In the first day, I saw that the Moto downloaded like 200mb worth of stuff through my phone's connection. After that, it barely breaks 5-10mb a day.
It appears to be F02. I know it looks sweet, but it used to absolutely kill the battery on my 360, and its a paid watch. Perhaps its been updated. Here's the play link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.ddroid.aw.watchface.mf02
If only I had witty comments at the moment!
Since this subject got me thinking about Wear & rewards cards, I went and found Stocard. Looks very nice, it evens toggles Sunlight mode when you pick a card so that your watch is at full brightness for a few seconds and more likely to scan correctly.
I should give Kroger's self-checkout a run first before I let the Walgreens chick grab my arm. :P
I ski with mine all the time. Battery definitely takes a beating if "tilt to wake" is on.
I haven't found a good app to track vertical or speed for Android Wear, but if you ride with your phone, check out Trace (formerly Alpine Replay). I use it every time I go skiing.
Trace App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alpinereplay.android
The Moto 360 Sport might be less water resistant than the regular 360... which is the opposite of what you might expect.
Ever since the Android Wear 5.0.1 update on my Gear Live, I've been having trouble with notifications suddenly stopping. They only appear when I start interacting with the watch. I've posted a thread on the Google product forums about this with details about how my problem plays out. If yours is similar, you should add to the thread so we can get it noticed.
You can try to install the update via ADB. The APK you'll want is https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-fit-fitness-tracking-android-wear/google-fit-fitness-tracking-android-wear-2-02-21-release/google-fit-fitness-tracking-wear-os-2-02-21-230-android-apk-download/
Found a website where I downloaded it. In fact, I sent that exact same image there TO the Mondaine Twitter page and they responded that they liked it! xD
i use the qi infinity wireless charger, http://www.qi-infinity.com/product/wireless-charger-power-bank-4000-mah-black/ i also noticed that it doesn't continuously charge, though it eventually gets to 100%. My theory is that it's just regulating heat? I could be wrong. this is what it looks like https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=618f90ecf86f8033&id=618F90ECF86F8033%21126707&v=3&ithint=photo,jpg&authkey=!ABcuYIpib8GdrKw
Android.That's the phone you want.
I'm only half kidding here. The beautiful thing about this watch is it's good with pretty much any phone out there. If you are crazy enough you can even get it working with an iPhone, but any Android phone will be perfect. I've been using the Nexus family since the GNex, currently on a Nexus 5 because the Nexus 6 was a bit out of my price range. In the end it all depends on what you are looking for in a phone. Google recently made a tool to help with picking out a new phone based on what you want to use the phone for. It might be a good starting point to work from.
I don't even notice it, so I'd say it's very comfortable. Here is link to the one in the pictures. I paid $35 with free amazon shipping when I bought it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EYV93I/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_hZZlub0F27352
The Fossil bands, even if listed as women's shouldn't matter as long as they fit. Someone here posted about getting one on their 42mm 360 that they were happy with, and turns out it's listed as women's on Amazon.
Edit: found that post here.
I bought a powerbot charger on amazon a while back. Works great with my v1.
Just need to make sure the watch is centered on the charger, otherwise it goes really slow.
PowerBot® PB1020 Qi Enabled Wireless Charger Inductive Charging Pad Station for All Qi Standard Compatible Devices Including Samsung, iPhone, Nokia, Google, Nexus, LG, HTC and Other Smartphones with Receivers (AC Adapter Excluded. 2 x Micro USB Cable Included), Blue on Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F6SQ1D6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_SetywbDY0DS80
I bought this one on amazon and have been really happy with it. Easy to apply, no bubbles, and it has stood up well the few times I've knocked my wrist against a wall.
Motorola Moto 360 42mm (2nd Generation) Glass Screen Protector, Dmax Armor® Ballistics [Tempered Glass] 99% Touch-screen Accurate, Anti-Scratch, Anti-Fingerprint, Round Edge [0.3mm]- Retail Packaging https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015USNTVI/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_O.eIwbJ0E4PXN
Does the charger have a Motorola logo on the bottom? Wondering if it is a knock-off charger.
This one on Amazon has a red light.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VNZAW6I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It doesn't come with a power supply, so speed may vary depending on power.
Amazon has a brand called Barton on it. Check them out. I love mine from them.
BARTON Quick Release Top Grain Leather - Choose Color & Width (18mm, 20mm or 22mm) - Saddle Brown 20mm Watch Band https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KD8JCBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6WWgzbG7G7NJG
Not sure if what I have would work, mine is not OEM, I bought it off Amazon. If you think they will work, I can send you some. I bought this one
Amazon does have the same one I bought for 46mm. Link Here
Yikes! Good to know that it can be "over" heated ... Sorry about your troubles... :(
FYI - I found this replacement back cover on Amazon for $14.95 : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FDZ3V4/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1Q9Q1EHB0XK1A
No. I first got a metal band from Amazon but was annoyed with the magnetic clip. Next I got a canvas band from Barton that I've been very happy with.
Both came with springs.
I was in the same boat last year with my v1 biting the dust, after looking for a while I settled on the Fossil Q Explorist 3 (Amazon link) and it's been great. Especially coming from a v1, the performance is wonderful, battery life is enough for a full day plus some, and design is exactly what I was looking for.
Seems like all the other smartwatches on the market have dumb designs, like the new Samsung that has lines all around the bezel that won't always look good with whatever face you use, so design was the biggest selling point for me.
I use heart trace. I started using that because I couldn't figure out how to get Google Fit to auto check it.
Let me try to answer all of your questions in order
You have a Moto 360 Sport.
If the apps have a watch symbol on their Play Store listing, download them to your phone, wait a few minutes (with your watch connected to your phone), then check for a notification on your watch like "Amazon Installed." If it says "Tap to Open" in that notification, it's a full-on app that you can open from the launcher. If it says "Tap to set watchface" it's a watchface and not an app. If it says neither, it's not a full-on app, but rather something to enhance notifications. For example: Musixmatch is an app that doesn't show up on Wear but adds lyrics to music from a notification when you ID songs from your phone, and Fly Delta is an app that you can only open from a notification to view your boarding pass the day before or on your flight.
Contacts sync is kinda broken, try clearing cache of Google or Contacts app and waiting up to a week (grr I know). More drastic and potentially more effective, you could install an earlier version of the Google app via APKMirror: version 7.0.13.21.arm64 is working perfectly for me right now.
Any Android Wear app is compatible with the 360 Sport! Download this app to find them better: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=goko.ws2&hl=en
Try feel the wear for changing the vibration strength. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.martinflorek.wear.feelthewear
There are certain apps that allow you to use a built in keyboard but you have to install. I won't link any as I've personally not used one in a long time, really didn't like trying to type on the tiny ass screen. But just search for them on the play store
Assuming you have a 360 Sport with a GPS...for outdoors, Ghostracer is the best. Tons of customization and works really well:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bravetheskies.ghostracer
For inside, Moto Body (preinstalled, i think) has an indoor mode...but I have never used it.
If you don't have a Sport, I would try Moto Body for both.
I use venom, has a ton of information available without looking cluttered and is very customizable. Using it on a moto 360 v.1
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.thema.wear.watch.venom
Ghostracer is amazing. Logs run, has GPS and heart rate support. Can go for runs without your phone then auto upload to runkeeper or strava after. Pretty sure it's what you're looking for.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bravetheskies.ghostracer
Its the custom watch face I designed using WatchMaker. Here's the link if you want and customize.
Some watchfaces can show the battery life of paired phone & watch like this watch face (Insto in <strong>Facer</strong>)
As long as the screen's off there's no real reason to remove it from the charger after an hour. That said, something like Wear Charging Widget moves the text every so often, should prevent any issues.
Edit: googling "instaweather harry potter", this is the first result. What does it mean?!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jtarwinder.floralwatchface
Floral is a watch face designed for Android Wear. The design is inspired by old historical botanical drawings. Floral comes in three color and can be used in a 12 hour or 24 hour format. If you have experienced any problems or have suggestions for the watch face, feel free to send us an email and we will be happy to respond promptly.
I haven't tried them but there are a few free apps out there that do the same thing.
On the stock Clock app I'm not sure.
But on the Sleep As Android app there's an option to disable that. It's overall a great alarm app.
Hi. You can try Minimal&Elegant. Here is link to latet stats https://plus.google.com/+MarcinStepienDev/posts/E7jCHDoE5Un Face link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stmp.minimalface&hl=en in case it will not satisfy you, just mail on the mails listed in Google Play and you can get refund even during whole week ( it means no 15mins but week for testing ) :-)
Try using Stuck Pixel Fixer for Wear from the play store. It may not work if those are actually dead pixels, but I've seen some other people mention stuck colors which this might fix. I've never used this one myself, but on desktop/laptop monitors similar programs have helped me before.
If you happen to have/can borrow another Android device to pair your watch to, you can download Aerlink to your watch and the companion app from the App Store.
It has it's quirks, and you can't use a lot of the features of the watch, but it's better than just time.
Sorry about your phone!
I'm a fan of Pujie Black and Skymaster Pilot. Both look great and are super customizable.
It's one that I customized using an app called Pujie Black (Link). The app has the ability to import presets, so if you paste the link from my comment above, it will import the exact presets I used.
I mean, I can't say for sure because I cannot try for myself, but I am a bit confused by the comments of the others here because I thought you actually can use Android Wear devices with iOS, using an app like this one.
Again, I'm not sure, nor do I know anything about the details around it, but as far as I understood you will just need an android device for the initial setup and then you can, by installing said app, use your watch with your iPhone!
I suppose for installing watchfaces you'd need your Android phone though... and probably functionality is a bit crippled over all, because most apps probably won't work.
Maybe you can find a friend with a watch and try out that app first!? :)
Actually, Stocard is a lot better in terms of being able to buy Starbucks and even more.. and is much more simplistic.

Android Wear shouldn't be that high unless Facer is doing it. I was getting pretty bad battery times when using Facer and had to stop Now I get the following.
That was taken 14 hours after I took my watch off the charger. Almost 2 days battery time with normal use. If anyone ask, I use Richface Torque as my watch face.
