What is Reddit's opinion of Vortex?

If you like Twitch and looking for a replacement app you can try Vortex. It shows recommended channels and channels you follow, features which are missing on official Twitch app.

Only drawback, the app hasn't been updated for a while.

I haven't used this in awhile, but I know Vortex allows you to watch archived broadcasts.

If you use twitch just for watching streams (and you don't really chat) i would recommend using Vortex, as it's very lightweight and fast (also has "material" design).

Console app and Android one is terrible. At least on Android you have apps like Vortex that load significantly faster and won't kill your battery.

On Android, I use Vortex it's a simple app for Twitch that focuses on just the stream and chat. You have the option to change video quality (if the streamers allow it), search games/channels and follow/unfollow, but that's all...and no ads.

I checked after reading the title and the app page said about 100,000 people have downloaded Vortex, which is barely 1/3 of Phoenix (maybe?), but compared to the state...tiny.

That's weird. You can always try installing an older version of the app (99% sure it's on apkmirror) or using an unofficial client, such as Vortex

I use Vortex most of the time on Android. It doesn't give me notification when streamers start streaming, but it's worked the best for me..

If the official twitch app is not working, try Vortex. Vortex is an unofficial twitch app and it's pretty good.
