No, he's in Warmachine: Wrath. You can read about him here along with his character jack.
Remember, you don't need the book that the model came in for stats, unlike Warhammer. Instead, whenever you buy the model, you get his stat card with spells and whatnot.
As a new player, I highly recommend you get War Room, an app for your smart phone or tablet. You can purchase all the cards for a faction for $6.00, a bargain. Then, just proxy models you want to try with whatever you have and once you find a model you like, THEN purchase it.
The War Room app also has a battle function, so you can build a list and play with it, very handy. Here's the link for War Room on google play.
Overview of how things changed is long, but it's mostly minor changes. Also that was a little over 5 years ago, so it's hard to remember all of them. The old cards are outdated. Get new ones in a Cygnar Faction MKII deck, though they are 5 years old and going to be fairly hard to find. You could also buy just the cards you need from privateer for $0.50 each. There is also a very good app WarRoom which lets you access all the rules for all the models. It's $7 per army or you can buy whole systems bundled for a small discount. Once you buy the army, every time a model is released, you can download the card data for it.
Pick up a copy of Prime MKII or the Mini Rulebook to get all the updated rules. The best way to relearn will probably be playing a good number of games.
EDIT: Found a site that actually has the faction deck in stock. I have never used this site, but the main 5 I use did not have it anymore.
