I use YAAB ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.gyrus.yaab ). It works on non-rooted devices and doesn't apply a coloured filter.
edit: Just realized this might not be what you are looking for. The brightness changes due to this app, happen by checking the light sensor. This in contrast to for example Flux (on PC) and Twilight, that work according to time.
try Yet another Auto brightness it lets you manually set the parameters for your auto brightness.
it doesn't need root. do note though its originally made for older versions of android, but it seems to work fine for the Realme GT ME.
Make sure you have the devices Auto brightness turned off. otherwise the system will overwrite it.

Adaptive brightness is fine in low light but it doesn't go high enough under a bright light. I use Yet Another Auto Brightness.
I've never liked the default auto brightness behavior on Android phones.
But the beauty of having an Android phone is being able to install an alternative.
Similar behavior on mine since I've had it since March. I don't understand Samsung's auto brightness.
You could use YAAB
I used it for a while, don't recall why I stopped.
Try the app YAAB
Probably this could help https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.gyrus.yaab
