Of course you like your design, but it doesn't really fit into the current Android aesthetics. There is probably a way to make it more material like (like making the buttons to look like FABs), but I really don't like that it covers so much of the viewfinder. That's why I like Sony's transparent design that also has more FAB-like buttons and material tabs on top for different camera modes (even though that's not exactly the right use for tabs). But I guess we have different tastes. That's fine.
Have a look at Z Camera, it looks a bit similar to your design.
Edit: Z Camera has an awful lot of permissions, maybe don't check it out.
Unless hardware buttons or a premium feel are really importance to you, I would go with the Moto X Play because of that giant battery. Both brands are known to be reliable though Motorola phones tend to feel the part (speaking from my experience with the Droid/Milestone).
My experience with TouchWiz is that 3rd party apps and the correct launcher can remove most of it from the phone. It is not like I spend much time in the settings menu nor is the status bar ever offensive. I honestly find much of the whining about skins to be silly because what makes Android great is you can change almost anything. Don't like the dialer, get another. Don't like the messaging app, get a different one and chances are you did since you use Google Voice or WhatsApp. Don't like the camera app, I just found this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.zcamera
Sorry for the rant I just feel like most skin discussions discount why I at least support Android in the first place.
I still recommend the X Play because of the battery and lower price but if the S6 speaks to you and you have the extra money lying around, you can make it your own.
Because this app is for insecure teenagers, the screenshots on the Play Store are basically only attractive people
I would like to recommend ZCamera. That is, if you'd possibly like a little more control over what the Google photos app backs up for you automatically.

The reason requires a bit of explaining. Google photos has the option to automatically back up photos. Which is great. Except that if it is on, you have no choice but to automatically back up the stock camera's default directory. I don't want to back up every photo I take, only the ones I want to keep (those in my VSCO cam directory.)
The easiest solution seems to be to save pictures to a custom directory. But Google camera won't let you do that. (It will to SD card, but that is a mandatory back up too.) Few camera apps will let you save to a non-standard directory, and most that will are quite ugly. Having tried maybe fifty camera apps, and a bunch more ported camera apps from xda, Zcamera is the best I have found, and the only one offering to save to non-standard directory where also the interface doesn't make my eyes bleed.

Not saying it is perfect, but quite preferable to the alternatives, if your priority is being able to only auto back up the photos you pick.
While I'm at it:
Collateral: A pretty material app for pinning your own notifications to the status bar / notification shade. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gpvargas.collateral
Wordiest: If you like scrabble, a little solo word game, where after you play you get to see a chart of how well you did versus better and worse ranked players, what they all played, etc. Sounds dull but I like it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.concreterose.wordiest
