My old Zune 30 is still kicking, but I don't use it much.
I use Zplayer for my phone though It mimics the Zune Touch UI, and I love it. It used to be really unstable, but its gotten really good plus is has integrated podcasting, which is sorely missing from a lot of music players for android.
Zplayer - $2.99 - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.odesanmi.and.zplayer
You can also search the web for ZplayerX, which is the free version to try it out. It is not on the market though.
I haven't actually used it much though.
I am personally a fan of some fiio products.
They make great mp3 players and you can install Zplayer on Android that still receives updates in 2021.
Hey. Sorry for the super late reply. I completely forgot about the music widget. Unfortunately, that's not kwgt. It's from this music player app I use called Zplayer. If you want I can try to make the icons as png files so you can use it in kwgt. Kwgt music controls doesn't work as well for players other than the usual (play music, Spotify, etc.). That's why I use the stock zplayer controls.
I was thinking about getting one of the modern mp3 players. They are very expensive but may help with capturing that nostalgic feeling.
One I thought of was this. FiiO M11 Pro Android Hi-Res Lossless MP3 Music Player with Dual AK4497, THX AAA amp, MQA, aptX/atpX HD/LDAC/Bluetooth/DSD/Tidal/Spotify/5G WiFi/4.4 Balance Output, Full Touch Screen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XPTM5YS/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_-W.bEbE8RDA3D
I would use this app on it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.odesanmi.and.zplayer
Just 600-700 is very hard to swallow for nostagla at my pay grade.
Yep, the Zune player is pretty nice. I wish my old brick first gen Zune didn't get sotlen. I loved that thing, and the UI was super nice.
The wife still has a Zune HD that is trucking along serving her quite well.
Also: If you liked the Zune interface there is an Android app called Zplay that runs just like the Zune interface. Very nice.
It is an app called Zplayer. Forewarned, the podcast portion isn't great. The music player is fine.
zPlayer (based on the Zune software) is super nice too.

There's a free version as well.
You thinking of an app like ZPlayer?
If you need a Zune-inspired music player, try ZPlayer (paid).
Looks very Windows Phone. I'll leave it to the reader to decide whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Z-Player ...and your welcome! :)
