I have a gnarly bunion on my right foot. I have not gotten the surgery because I can't be off my foot for 6-8 weeks anytime soon. Getting wide shoes that fit properly has helped immensely - especially running shoes but also everyday wear shoes. I am now also using gel bunion protectors, and they have been helping a bit as well. I still run and do all movements in class even when it hurts... but I mostly feel the bunion pain after class.
