> I just super glue the minis to the bases. Drop some superglue on a hard surface and use a toothpick or something to dab some under the minis and then press them onto the base. Once everything is on the base, I usually add some kind of texture, currently using the Vallejo Ground Texture paste. Or you can just flock the whole base with granulated flock to hide where the minis are glued on.
oh now this is interesting, this is something I didn't consider but is basically what I want.
>I usually do. I do spray them with Mr. Hobby super clear matte. If you can't spray then you can think of brushing on some matte sealer. Preferred that you do this before adding any flock. Sealing just helps minis from getting dinged while being handled. You can not seal them but they'll be a little more vulnerable to rough handling.
So I had a friend suggest this would a multi purpose sealer/glue be risking it too much?
Mod Podge is basically the same thing as Elmer’s glue. It’s great for a lot of hobby things, but I’d be really wary of using it to varnish 6mm infantry. I use Mod Podge quite a lot in terrain projects as both a primer and a sealer for terrain pieces that are going to be handled in game stores.
For your infantry you want something more like
I picked up some Modelcraft side cutters about a year ago and haven't broken them yet (including using them on moulded metal bases from Irregular). They're not the best for getting into small gaps but I think the fact they're a little thick helps reinforce them so they survive this kind of heavy-duty job better than some snippers that are better for getting things off plastic sprues really cleanly, etc.
De Bellis Antiquitatis. It's a wargame designed for ancient-through-medieval battles. It's a fast play, but be warned: the author's writing style is needlessly verbose and hard to understand at times.
