If you want to get started with an inexpensive action camera I'd look at Dreki for camera recommendations https://youtu.be/qITwOtfKmaE
...and pick up one of these kits that have all kinds of fun mounts to try: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01171X0UW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_dl_3F4VPFSCNC2XW9YQF9QS
The features you ask for (fisheye correction, IS) are pretty advanced, so I doubt you'll find them in any beginner-friendly video editor.
DaVinci Resolve can do all that and more, and it's free, but it's a full-blown editor, somewhat more friendly than Adobe Premiere or Final Cut but still...
The .mov format was a little off-putting for me too, initially. I kept mine and found a file file converter for my videos. So far I have liked it. the battery life is rather short, but 1080 seems to do that with these little cameras.
unfortunately no, this was years ago so i don’t remember the name nor do i have the link to the purchase :-(
it might have been this one https://www.amazon.com/Seninhi-Professional-Waterproof-Protective-Lightdow/dp/B075Z5PSPN/ but my memory is failing me so buy at your own risk
Buying one without reviews? That's a scary thought. Unfortunately there's a lot that can go wrong stitching 360° videos and even the higher end camera (Check out the reviews on the Nikon Key mission 360). They haven't even got it right.
For $115 you'll not get real 4k, but usually cameras in this price range can do decent 2k. Chances are you'll at least get an OK camera in single direction mode. But hey don't expect too much in terms of actual resolution & stitching errors in 360 mode. It might be good though! And if it's not, at least Amazon has a good return policy.
I'd like to see some samples once you get it! And please write your honest opinion to help other shoppers! :)
Edit: I just took a closer look and this camera only has one lens so it's not a real 360° cam and cannot record behind it. So yeah, not real 360 footage.
I got a 50-in-1 accessory kit for like 40$ CAD on Amazon. I would go with that. High quality for the most part, comes in a great hard travel case that holds all the pieces. I'm really happy with it
Here is the kit (Amazon Canada)
This listing says Type C USB under specifications.
I think they upgraded it, which is why a lot of the older reviews and questions say micro USB. Answers and reviews from 2022 are saying Type-C.
I reviewed the Akaso v50x a while back. I'm one of the people who lauded its EIS stabilization. It's a pretty good camera overall for the money but the audio sucks-
Or should I say it WAS a good camera .
I can't confirm 100% but I'm under the suspicion that Akaso changed the internal of the camera and replaced it with something worse. This sneaking suspicion is from comments on the YouTube video that say "my EIS isn't good" or "my video quality looks nothing like yours"
If you're going to buy a GoPro do not get one unless it has stabilization first of all. Second honestly the cheaper action cams have all kinda gone to garbage recently.
The camera I've liked best recently in the $100 USD range is XTU s3
Hope this helps.
damn right! i made this mistake too on ebay. I got %50 refund from the seller and i'll keep the accessories and give away this crappy "1080p" cam. you gotta spend at the very rock bottom at least $40 for an Allwinner-V3 based camera from Gearbest or Banggood to get any decent quality without losing your sanity. but don't rely at that cam either for continuous good quality recording. yeah go for a decent chinese "name brand" like Xiaomi Yi.
Thanks for the reply.
The card that I used was an experiment that I am quite pleased with. Netac 64gb. class 10, UHS3 card.

http://www.gearbest.com/memory-cards/pp_331431.html
We will see how this performs over time, the card was a low cost item and a test to see how well it performs. The review's have been quite good which caught my interest in this.
Hey, APEMAN TRAWO supports 1080P@60 fps, just for your reference. Tokyo is a good place for travelling, maybe you can have some clues from here.

Search the review for you: campark-x20-action-camera-review
What kind of card is it? Have you tried this card with other devices before?
Is it the ODRVM 4k? or 1080p? I'm pretty sure the 1080p version will only take up to 32gb (might be same on 4k). If it's a larger card it may not successfully record footage.
My suggestion is to download a freeware software called Puran File Recovery and use it to scan the memory card. Enable all options for deep scan, deleted files, etc. If it is a memory card issue you may not get much, but I've been able to recover some video on a good card from weeks earlier before (lucky).
I just got one about a week ago. I like the camera a lot. The video quality is great at 1080. Audio quality isn't the best, but these aren't designed with vlogging in mind. Battery life is the only other drawback I see. Recoding on 1080 I get about an hour per battery. That's not too bad, I suppose.
The files are .mov format, so editing in something like Windows Movie Maker won't work unless you convert the files first. There is a file converter online for download that works very well. Check out this for file conversions if you're not using an editor that accepts .mov formats.
I think the camera has been an excellent choice for me so far. I recommend it to those looking for an entry level action camera.
For that price you can get a GoPro Hero 7 or 8, or a DJI Osmo Action 1. Any of those would be a great action camera.
I'd also recommend one of these accessory kits. Not all the pieces are high quality, but they're a great way to try out different mounts and see what he would find most useful.
Yes. Apeman got banned from Amazon likely for review manipulation. Same with Vantop, Campark, Crosstour,Victure, etc.
Victure is doing something similar, they're back now too (I think under the brand GoVic). No review card in the box this time.
Redskull noted that the 4K60 on this Apeman cam is just upscaled 1080p60, and that's quite in line with most super cheap "4K60" cams on Amazon, along with his sample appearing to be a bit out of focus, I expect low quality control just like you'd expect for the price. Apeman has always been hit or miss for me, the A80 was great back in the day, but still suffered from similar QC issues.
V50X has better stabilization than A87 by far, and even though I don't have them side by side I would think better color performance, although V50X I think the mic was much worse. This is just impressions from watching reviews, I'm not particularly keen to test it.
I just picked up this $70 "4k 60" cam today. Random brand, no reviews, I'm curious how it'll perform. It arrived this afternoon, no chance to test yet.
The Mevo does everything you need it to, and probably more. It has a great user friendly app, you can add a separate mic or use your phone as a separate mic input. You can stack a few of them and control a multi-stream event if you want all with great software to make you look like a producer. i dont work for them, i just like it alot. But it's $399, and it sort of looks like an action cam, but not really.
GoPro is still the gold standard in action cameras, assuming you can afford the flagship black versions. The Hero Black 7 and 9 are especially well regarded. I have the 8, which I love, but most people dislike because it's so difficult to change the lens cover if it gets scratched or broken.
The DJI Osmo Action is also a real bargain these days with similar performance to the gopro Hero 9.
A good budget alternative would be the Campark V30.
As for a headband, I'm a fan of buying one of the accessory kits that come with everything. These accessories are more or less universal between action cameras.

https://www.amazon.com/Andoer-Touchscreen-Anti-Shake-Wide-Angle-Waterproof/dp/B074TFYQM2/ should do you better than most other <$50 cams. Currently it's $30. Audio quality is subpar but if it is in the waterproof case that does not really matter any how. It is true 1080p / 1440p, upscaled fake 4K.
This is the type of info I was hoping for when coming here! Thank you very much!
I just googled and apparently Amazon has it too?. Is this the one?
Ok. Best 1080p60 cam under $100 on Amazon right now is the ThiEYE T5e. I would recommend this camera over the previously mentioned two cameras as it is optimized for 1080p60 whereas the Akaso/Campark are optimized for 4k30.
Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SPZ3DRX/
It's still $85 but this way you'll get a quality camera.
Note: this is NOT the T5 Edge.
If you absolutely need to be in the sub $50 price range let me know and I'll see what I can find. There's a few Novatek-based cameras that are in that price range and decent enough (for example another poster mentioned the Soocoo C30)
I've seen videos regarding it, should be great value. :) Probably never gonna use the 4k. Gonna use it for the stabilization and image quality at higher fps. :) Do you know if this one will fit? Amazon link
I've grabbed one of these and a microphone adapter :https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HGE5MS2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But when I plug it in the screen turns off. is that normal?
Not sure what your original app is( final cam?), but I read a comment on Amazon GB that this app called works:ZSANYCAM https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zsbrother.wearcam.zsanycam&hl=en
