I installed Privacy Pro from Disconnect.me and I have only seen one or two ads across all my apps and websites.
The Privacy Pro app also tells you what servers you’re connecting to, so the second I see an ad I open the app up, look for a suspicious server name and Google it. If it’s an ad-serving app or a tracker or anything like that I can add it to my custom blocked URLs. It’s really easy.
The one thing I can’t get rid of ads in is the YouTube app it seems, but for all ads to disappear everywhere else in an app that you don’t have to pay for that functionality is pretty darn great!
The app also keeps a list (whether the app is open or not) of how many GBs would have been wasted on ads/trackers etc. and since I purchased the HTTPS everywhere portion it shows me how many pages have been secured. I’ve been running the app for about 20 days and have a look:
For starters, I recommend Privacy Pro as a VPN. It blocks various trackers and such.

Then, I’d get Firefox Focus. It’s big on privacy, and should block quite a few ads. I don’t think you can have multiple tabs, though.
