Yeah, my leg warmers always get stretched out over time lol! I've never had them actually rip, but they do start to slip and bunch up! But here is a thicker legging I really like - they're VERY high waisted and pretty compressive through the tummy as well so I wear them for silks (actually, they were recommended by someone on r/Aerials!).
I also saw someone recommended layering joggers over leggings. I wear joggers without leggings all the time and I think that would work quite well! They are a bit baggy but obviously the waistband holds them up so slippage isn't an issue haha.

Seriously, buy this!
At my studio we have padded, tapped and painted hoops. That's the way I dress them. We purchase grain alcohol (everclear) and fill continuous mist spray bottles with said alcohol, a little bit of water (so it doesn't evaporate instantly) and a drop of soap (it breaks the lipid layer of the virus). Every student sprays their hands before and after mounting the apparatus.
I'd suggest thermal work gloves that have grip to them, I haven't been able to find any weightlifting gloves that are warm enough personally. Something like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NFFZK5X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Lzh.FbPT81BDF
