you know i have been hearing this since may. and i get it. but what do we actually predict is going to happen? i mean this seriously, not to be a dick. here’s a situation and please clap back and with a more apt one if i’m out of line:
i’m a leftist. chillin in my house reading some marx. my bff who is active in the protests comes over. i post on my story that we are chillin playing a board game to let off steam. a local militia dude catches wind and they decide to roll 6 deep and come over. are they actually coming to kill me and my friend? or are they just intimidating us? suppose the latter, only this time i pull out my gun and tell them to leave. how do i think that’s going to end?
or say i’m driving and i get stopped at one of those supremely helpful oregon checkpoints because they think antifa is lighting fires and causing trouble. they, as happened to a reporter (link) one of the dudes cocks his rifle while it’s pointed at me. and then i decide to show them i’m packing a sweet ak47 myself. how would that end well?
i’m not opposed to self-defense. and i am not anti-gun. but given the current awfully intimidating encounters leftists, blm protestors, and journalists have had with right-wingers, i can’t see how an additional gun will make the problem better. that is, unless we leftists are forming our own militias for community protection.
check out scott crow’s book on community armed defense. in a interview i recently heard, to him, the jury is still out on if guns are a good idea.
Here's a book written about Trump as The Christ. Here's a brief article about Shane Vaughn, who is one of the pastors pushing this specific messianic Christianity that centers Trump. There's probably a lot more you can find by tugging on those strings
I wish he’d drop dead of a heart attack every single day, but I don’t think that will change our trajectory enough at this point.
I just finished this new book and I’m not feeling terribly optimistic. These people are faced with a loss of status (i.e.,racial equality), in a country they believe is theirs by birthright (sons of the soil), and they know fair elections will lock them out of power for the long term (hopelessness). These are some of the strongest drivers of a group taking up arms, so they will not simply wake up one day and decide to accept the changing demographics. They’ll keep pushing until they win or they’re beaten.
The scariest part, and what’s left unsaid in this book, is that if we do manage to avoid armed conflict, it will be because we accept our slide into autocracy peacefully.

I'd recommend the book, Son of the Revolution by Liang Heng. It's a memoir and first person account about life during and participating in the Cultural Revolution. It might give perspective on how people can get sucked into a self-destructive movement like both the Cultural Revolution and MAGA.

Better yet- Steven Hassan is a well known cult deprogrammer and he wrote a book on just how to do this:

>Just curious, which Fox News anchor/article is comparing Nazis to socialists? Asking because my father is a diehard right wing follower but also thinks Fox is bullshit so it’s always fun to show this kind of thing to him.
Dinesh D'Souza goes on Fox News claiming the Nazis were Left Wing.
Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity have said it too.
