If you don't have a tent cot already then you're doing it wrong. Get the XL, totally worth it and it fits in the 64 tailboom. Also get a sleep mat and inflatable pillow (I use Klymit).
Absolutely second the chair with a back, jet boil, and the electric shower pump. I personally bring a French press and coffee grinder cause I'm bougie as fuck, a selection of ramen, and a Switch for late-night Mario Kart tournaments. I also bring a frisbee to annoy my CSM.
I recommend noise-cancelling headphones or similar to help sleep through rotor noise. I also recommend a Scrubba or similar, because wearing underwear two days in a row is for peasants.
~~also a bottle of Maker's Mark in the bottom of the toughbox~~
I picked up a Better BDU belt forever ago at MCS. The little plastic tab makes me happy. Only replaced it cause the Army changed from tan to coyote brown.

I'm using a cheap amazon special. I wanna say "Fairwin tactical" or something. Has a QR buckle.
Also, why would I want a) to have to roll my whole uniform down to take a shit b) Not be able to take my top off and c) not be able to wear a combat shirt? I don't want a tactical onesie.
This is my setup and has been working well on the same battery for a few hundred hours. Don't buy lights from the hangar. They'll rip you off

This is hands down the best Murse "satchel" I've used, best part they are cheap and easy to replace. But mine has lasted through a OCONUS trip and then some with zero issues. Plus you can use the swoopy ammo pouches to store battery packs for your iPad etc. the ammo pouch flaps are adjustable with makes it convenient to size it for whatever you are storing.
I fly with a 11in Ipad Pro and this store it without issues along with my window RAM mount. Lastly the bag fits perfectly in the right seat of a 60, cheers!
Apache doesn’t have door pockets, so I got one of these bail out bags.

This little bag fits under the collective and doesn’t mess with it. I keep my iPad, checklist, reference sheets, snacks, and anything else I might need in the cockpit in it.

I’ve been using this one for over two years. Fits helmet, ALSE vest, Davies, knee board, and a bunch of other stuff. Won’t fit the air warrior vest, but we really only fly with that during gunnery or NTC. It’s very similar to the maxpedition but it’s slightly larger and costs about $100 less (IIRC...).
I would recommend the coyote color. I didn’t get it because it’s a bit too army for me...but the black one was basically coyote colored after a few weeks in the box.

This one has served me well for nearly 2 years now. 650 hours or so on it and I don’t know how I flew without it. Honestly any cushion is going to be great compared to none. I’d say don’t spend too much unless you’ve tried a cheap one already. Protip if you’ve never flown with a cushion...you wanna throw this on top of the cushion already in the aircraft, you gotta double up.

Shitty amazon version of the nice name brand one that’s way more expensive. A couple little straps have broken over the years but it’s seen a lot of shit. Fits in a 64 tailboom. Would recommend.
Read "Making a Night Stalker" by David Burnett.

It follows his journey from regular Soldier to a Crew Chief. Very entertaining and informative book that I listened to when I was interested in joining 160th before I decided to go NG. Good luck!
I used this study guide, and it was perfect!

Beyond just telling you what to study, it gives you the format for the test. It really makes you a lot more comfortable knowing where you are and what's coming next.
Also check out the smarter every day videos about helicopters. That's how I learned how gyroscopic precession works.
Once you've graduated sere, start paying attention to helicopter lessons in 10 minutes or less on YouTube. He's an Apache IP who really breaks down all the helicopter aerodynamics topics. For the sift though, it's a little more advanced than you need to know.
If you know that heat, weight, and density altitude make helicopters fly worse, you'll do fine on the flight knowledge portion.
I'm ranting. Buy the book and use it -- you'll do fine.
I used to be a whiskey as well. I used these two, I got a 74. I couldn't find an updated version of the accepted one but it's probably for the best, the math answer key was off. There's had some very similar question to the actual test. Read the beginning for how the test is conducted. Some sections are more time restricted than others. I didn't have time to answer all the questions in some sections and others I finished with several minutes to spare.

I bought this one (below) and quickly found out the math section was completely useless. Don't waste your money.
