Some times I use two packets and make popsicles. Sometimes I add a crystal light to it. I think they are tastier than any protein water!
I am so sorry for the late reply. I had mine with Denise Ratcliffe. She is a author of Living with Bariatric Surgery. Honestly it was like a conversation and just being as open with her about how I was feeling, what I hope to gain from the surgery and what if it’s not a success. She basically wanted to get to the bottom of how I was feeling about the new development in my life and if it was a right decision for me. I would highly recommend getting her book on Amazon. It is amazing.

I do also take collagen but I’m not nearly as religious with it (3 pills a day— usually take 1 and forget to take the rest) as I am the biotin.

I use this for every meal. Before and after surgery.
Not the books they are talking about but these 2 are the ones I love. They have recipes for all stages and a lot of the recipes have directions so they fit into all 3 stages. I checked out the stages and they match my plan. Otherwise I make lots of small omelets and mini chicken/Mexican bowls.
You could always make your own...I found these if you are looking for 4oz but you can always type in a different bottle size!

Everyone uses a scale, all day ever day so find one you like!
I like this one (Escali Arti Kitchen Scale, 7 kg,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098X0NXO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) it matches my kitchen decor and is easy to wipe down plus it’s a reasonable price
I own several, one at home, one at my parents, on at the boyfriends, one in the car, when I went to work I had one there too
I use this one:
I feel like it does a fairly good job burning calories during the day. I am working from home and have a desk job. It's fairly easy to use and low impact.
Bigger pills you will likely have to crush to take them for the first week or two. not all pills can be crushed - check with your pharmacist. You may have to be switched from extended release meds to instant release to allow you to crush them.
I used this to crush my pills and it worked wonderfully: https://www.amazon.ca/Pill-Mill-Crusher-Multiple-Pulverizer/dp/B075HZYT9G
If you are going with the gastric bypass, the absorbtion of your meds may be different. Some meds will be absorbed less, some the same, and a few can be absorbed more potently. Lithium is one that is absorbed more after the RNY - more than twice as much enters your bloodstream after surgery than before.
Here's a chart of some common psych meds and how their absorbtion is altered after RNY: https://i.imgur.com/hwS0Ejy.jpg

Here it is again clear earrings
talk with your surgery team to make sure but i just wore clear plastic jewelry for my surgery. i ordered this set off of amazon and i had more than enough to fill all of my facial and body piercing holes so i wouldn’t have to get them re-pierced.

It's a little pricey, but soooooo worth it! I have put hot tea in this and it's still just as hot 3 hours later, still very warm 8 hours later, and still drinkable the next morning.
A super nice water bottle has been a life saver. I got an owala and it’s been great having one I like and is easy to take with me but also not have to worry about it leaking no matter what I put it through. The catch with this is most folks can’t use straws early on (causes you to swallow air). I got the (link below) sippy lids that fit on most cups which was great in the first month or so. If she hasn’t already tried different protein drinks putting together a “variety” pack would be nice. Especially after surgery tastes change a ton so being able to have a few of different brands and flavors (all not created equal) is super helpful.

Do the liquid multivitamin (and iron) they have on Amazon until you're several months in. The big bottle should last you until then. I also got some unflavored protein powder as well, and a set of restaurant serving utensils (spoons and perforated spoons), and they're in 2, 4, 6, 8 oz sizes. I've got a scale, blender/food processor, and an immersion blender (those things are super handy!)

I'll be heading to the Big Evil (walmart) to get that powdered Tylenol though, I hadn't thought of that. Thank you!

This is the ones we used. Nothing fancy but helped us both(husband and I both had surgery a month apart so we were able to share 1)
You can buy them in packs of one colour too.
I hope your doctor provides you with some answers, but in the meantime I would 100% recommend Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour skin protectant to use on your lips. It can also be used for small cuts, small burns, or sunburnt skin. You get so much for the price and it will last you years. It’s sold at Macys and online. The best I’ve ever tried. Also, be careful with other chapsticks, many seem to put lips into a perpetual cycle of dryness.

You're in a binge cycle. Decide it's against your character to binge. "I am not someone who binges!" Then it doesn't take any willpower because it's something you've already decided you just don't do.
Congrats on your hard work!
I'm late, but feel this is worth mentioning. I've been anemic 3 times in my life and it takes months for the body to build iron stores. I take a half of one of these, Bariatric Fusion, once or twice a day, and have been instructed to take them for a year, even when my blood levels return normal. Honestly, these are the best supplements, and nothing else works like they do. They don't cause constipation, either, like most iron supplements.
I've not had WLS, so your needs may be different - perhaps 1/4 tablet 2 - 3 times a day. Talk to your doctor, but diet alone really can't make up for anemia, especially if you are a menstruating woman.
Be well.

I wasn’t provided one by the hospital so I used this for the first few weeks post-op. It was really helpful.
I take biotin and collagen and that has helped.. there are barimelts on Amazon for the biotin and I just take collagen pills found at my local supermarket.
I find that the biotin really helps for hair growth, but it grows faster everywhere..
I take this one.

You'll still have to take calcium separately though. You can't take calcium and iron at the same time because it inhibits the absorption of iron. I use Celebrate brand calcium chews.
I'm having my bypass on the 22nd! My friend got me a bunch of these diamond painting guys because I love to just zone out on a little project.
Same here… I had surgery on 25 Jun 21 and I’m lucky If I go more than once a week.
Dr. Schulze's Intestinal Formula #1 seems to be the only way to consistently go…just be aware it can be a little harsh….and unpredictable.
Forgot kitchen items.
A food scale, of course. A good vegetable peeler. A mandolin slicer. And I live alone so I just cook for myself, so I bought a few small baking trays that would fit into a toaster oven. They're the perfect size for baking 1 or 2 pieces of chicken or fish. Here's the link to those: https://www.amazon.com/Baking-Carbon-Toaster-Replacement-Heavy-gauge/dp/B07QQK8TBC/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=2VYI4K4ZRA45X&keywords=walooza+tray&qid=1640352921&sprefix=walooza+tray%2Caps%2C213&sr=8-5
I got these salad plates at Walmart: (hopefully the link works) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Thyme-Table-Dinnerware-Black-White-Medallion-Stoneware-Round-Salad-Plate/785145081?fulfillmentIntent=In-store They're a great size and they're stoneware, not melamine, so they are microwave and dishwasher safe. They also had the same ones in small rectangular plates so I got those too. Love love love them.
I also bought these toddler size forks and spoons: https://www.amazon.com/RE-PLAY-Toddler-Utensils-Friendly-Recycled/dp/B07GX4P583/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=ZGDTP6OIFP42&keywords=re-play%2Bforks&qid=1640352501&sprefix=re-play%2Bforms%2Caps%2C242&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A1N59... They also carry them at Walmart and Wegmans.
I wore a hernia stomach binder from Amazon for the first six weeks after surgery because I went back to work 2 days post-op. It might help with keeping things tight so you don’t feel the pull. Here’s a link:

Treat yoself anyway! My kiddo is also my OAD and is 2.5 and this is actually my 2nd pregnancy pillow. I found that it helped my sciatica flare-ups tremendously. I use this one and have also bought one for my sister and a good friend in addition to the two that I’ve bought for myself!!
Quick question for you, I have been looking at Flintstones vitamins on Amazon, are these the ones you're recommending?
Flintstones Chewable Kids Vitamins with Iron, Multivitamin for Kids & Toddlers with Vitamin D, Vitamin C & more, 60ct https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GG6CZA/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_AP87VT2WJN79A5VW8EQ7
I make my own every morning using unflavored protein powder (this one mixes great and does not taste cheesy), 1/2 to one cup fairlife milk (for the extra protein) then tea or coffee with a light sweetener or chai tea syurp. It comes out super light like a milk tea or latte as opposed to thick heavy shakes
No I tried taking the horse pills and it was impossible.
I found these sugar-free gummy bears that are very easy for me.
Here’s a link if you want to check them out.
Edit… nevermid, saw the artificial sweeteners in your allergies.
Have you tried Proteinex? It’s a liquid version made from collagen that you can mix with water or just take a a shot for 18g protein 72 cal. I tried the watermelon and while I t is incredibly strong in flavor it is quick and manageable if you take it as a shot. I just started diluting it with 4 cups water so I can easily reach my protein goal for the day while getting my water in.
Honestly, I go back and forth. I'm working on weight loss on my own with some results. Part of me feels like I can do it "this time" without surgery but I'm also painfully aware that I've been down this road repeatedly and I have always relapsed and ended up going back to gaining the weight back. This makes me feel like I shouldn't let go of the surgery option because I'm not 100% sure that I CAN do it on my own.
I recently read this book to help me make the decision. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZLVCZ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think some of the info might be out of date and/or only apply to certain types of surgery, but, overall it was helpful. It also offers guidance for people who, like me, are still undecided.
The bariatric program I'm in said that I can back out at any time up until I go in for surgery, so, I'm continuing the program and learning what I can while I sort out my position.
Sounds familiar only I was scared to go from liquid to puréed so I am a week behind where I should be. I also hate protein shakes I’ll drink half a one for 1-2 snacks a day. I also like the protein water and the premier clear water which has 20’grams of protein. I add Global Health Products LiquaCel... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JG06F7C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share to my protein water. I get the grape flavored water and grape LiquaCel and put an ounce of it in the protein water. This adds 16 grams of protein and 100 calories which I don’t get enough calories in a day yet.
I tried the hormel healthy shots but the thought of drinking those nasty things makes me dry heave, and they are so expensive. I would talk to your dietician before doing this but mine was all for it. Doing this I only have to drink 1 protein water a day and 1 protein shake and with my meals I get my protein easily. Then I can enjoy plain water which I crave.
Lol I recognized this excerpt from my surgery pamphlet and was like "omg did this person have the same surgeon?" And then realized we've actually already connected and are indeed using the same practice lol. Happy to see you're still on track!
To answer your question, I used this chewable. It doesn't have exactly the amount of thiamin they outline though. I had the sleeve and it's not really as big of an issue for this surgery. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
I have this scale - works similar as above, if you're looking at options:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0113UZJE2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hi! I have this scale. You set it to use grams instead of ounces because it's more precise. Keep a small clean bowl on top, tare it to zero, then add your food and it will weigh just the food.
If you're in a good program, they will teach you how and what to eat after your surgery.
I use isopure unflavored for mixing into foods. I recommend warming up the food first and then adding the power. Otherwise the powder tends to cook and changes the consistency of the food.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SCO8AA8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Wsi8Fb78FH4A9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
you should try the dissovlable ones. my nutritionist said the gummy ones are not a good idea until you are like a year out.
I have yet to have surgery but I can offer advice on what to put vitamins in. I found this blender bottle that has a snack compartment and inside there is a little clear attachment to put vitamins in. If I don’t need the whole blender bottle I just grab the attachment with the lid.
So I used Isopure and I found it cheap on Amazon. Here is the link
