Hey, I'm glad you're still here but sorry that you have to deal with this.
Your story is heartbreakingly similar to mine.
I was 27F when a brain aneurysm ruptured in my right frontal lobe. I seemed relatively fine to most people, well considering... but I had severe emotional regulation issues, so much so that my mom brought me back to the hospital to "fix" me. They told her that is just the new me.
100% you should be in therapy. Most people benefit from it in general, but you've just survived a deeply traumatic event that fucked with your brain. From my experience, psychiatrists tend to throw medications at a problem first. Gabapentin, however, did help with some of the physical pain for me.
My best advice: find a support group. Mine is meeting virtually right now and we'd love to have you. If you'd rather just talk one on one, feel free to book time on my calendar.
You are not alone.
Ketogenic diet for brain health is a little different from the one for weight loss.
If you are supplementing with higher doses of fish oil, also look into a book called How to Feed a Brain by Cavin Balaster. His podcast, Adventures in Brain Injury, had also been super impactful.
Vision therapy has also been super helpful.
