We use shredded paper bedding and our bun loves it!
Mine has a favorite! He loves to throw it around and chase it. Also not expensive: https://www.chewy.com/kaytee-nut-knot-nibbler-small-animal/dp/129031?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=18806583592&utm_content=Kaytee&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQiA99ybBhD9ARIsALvZavWFDVZXklaatQzzwTvow1DxHa99ha-2F...
Ducky is so cute!! Thats so much hair lol! I got my lil babies a soft brush. I recommend this one! I got a diff one from the same website but this ones actually cheaper and better upon inspection.
I put a handful of pellets in there for her, slinger with some broken bits of carrots that I dehydrated, the pellets instructions say that we can feed them up to 1 cup a day, but we only give her 1/4 cup on the weekends, so she thinks their treats.
That's really their intrinsic behavior, so you can't be mad at them. But you can do things to mitigate...
I know most of these don't help if you're buns are full free roam like mine are. Every baseboard has been chewed in my whole house. I've just accepted it.
They’re nervous little critters that typically will stay close to home When you say cage wdym? Bunnies are not cage pets and need at the very least an xpen with a few hours of free roaming a day
Also would this work?
Yes. I have a mop and he literally can’t find water or food sometimes because he’s blinded by his mane lol. I don’t trim with scissors I use a razor comb, and the one I’ve specifically found amazing is this one
BANGMENG Hair Cutter Comb,Shaper... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M7JSNNC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I love it, and it really gives me control, definition, and security for my lions safety, as I’ve had an accident before with an angora, and learned my lesson. Usually lasts two weeks before his ears get lost in his mane again and I need to go searching 😂
White vinegar! You can buy it in gallon tubs pretty cheap
I'm in the UK but here's a link to what I get.
I don't use it every time, but once every two months I pour some in so it covers all the stains and leave it for 10mins. The vinegar breaks it down and it comes off super easy after with a quick scrub.
I’m in the UK but hope you can get this as it’s good stuff fibreplex
I’ll get a tile and a month from now I’ll be posting about how he keeps flipping his tile. 😂 Seriously, for a 3.5lb bunny he is incredibly strong. I think he stays up all night doing CrossFit. I can’t even go with a sort of heavy bowl because I’m afraid it could be light enough for him to lift but heavy enough that he couldn’t get out of the way of it and possibly get injured. His ceramic dish probably weighs a good 2 lbs. it’s heavy to me, for a dish. But that’s the one he pees in. 🙄 I’ll check into the tile. I know those are actually pretty weighty.
I’m not too concerned about his plastic grids. They are kind designed to take pressure off the hocks.

I think ultimately I just have to perhaps give up the idea of him having anything other than his hay overnight. He’s just young and still used to free feeding. When he throws his food, I see him looking for it and sniffing his floor and it makes me think he wants it. That gives me a sad.
I would recommend looking into C&C Grids, they are customizable 12"x12" grid squares that can be assembled into any shapes, an example would be https://www.amazon.ca/AHOME-Construction-Modular-Organizer-Storage/dp/B07DJ3YZXR/ref=asc\_df\_B07DJ3YZXR/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=335291106176&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1533024764625148627&hvpone=&hvptwo=&...
Something like this for litter?
Laxatone can be bought online from Chewy, Amazon, etc. It says it's for cats, but is great for rabbits too. It's breaks down hair in their gut. Just be sure to get the maple flavored one, not the tuna! This is the maple one:

My bunny loves The Chill N Chew Mat by Rosewood. He has eaten two of them already and third is in progress. It is made from 100% natural materials: water hyacinth and rattan. No plastic, glue etc. Normal hyacinth is toxic for bunnies but water hyacinth is okay. I found it from Amazon for you (I have never ordered anything from Amazon).
Also my bunny loves to peel appletree sticks and play with his ball full of treats. I also hide treats to his blanket every night before going to bed and give breakfast pellets from an activating game, where i hide them under little covers. https://www.amazon.com/Rosewood-Pet-Chill-Chew-Mat/dp/B0026RTRIQ

Sorehocks as others have said. Add this padding to your floors and then cover it with fleece. Keep their area super clean while they heal as well.
If you have the means for it, a dog exercise pen with a lid should work well (you can find them on amazon.)
Here are a few examples
You can find heating pads made specifically for critters that have chew resistant cords. Here’s a link to one:
I bought it off Amazon.
YUNVI Washable Rabbit Foraging Mat 21" × 21" Interactive Pet Feeding Mat Dog Nose Fleece Mat Toy Nostril Snack Dispenser for Training and Entertainment Rabbit Ferret Cat Dog Guinea Pig https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B099MVJ3PY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_467S6J9EVJK50EQ70DX6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This is what I bought for my bunny when I was worried about her staying warm through the night. It stays plugged in and only turns on when it registers weight. It's not soft, even with a towel on it. I kept it in her cage at night all year long. She would sit on it/off of it as she needed. :)
I just got a pet carrier from petsmart for my bun. It's a slide out one so you don't have to pull them out.
I got one off Amazon that’s not titled as a litter box but it works great and it’s big enough for two buns to sit in at a time. Here’s the link Litter box
That’s what motivates my son to get up and go to work every day, two hungry bunnies to support. I’m getting him this shirt for Christmas. 🤫
I Work Hard for the Bunny T Shirt - Funny Rabbit Tee https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DQKBX4F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AK1ZJ8Q82XNN6K5XQ3NA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Is your bunny indoors or outdoors? I would recommend you keep her indoors, since it keeps them safer from fleas/ticks/rabbit hemorrhaging disease
Your cage is too small and if you keep her there she is going to be unhappy; I’d suggest buying an xpen
I've read elsewhere on here that these are good. I haven't tried them myself, I just use a large area rug, and luckily my bun doesn't pee on it.
Amazon Basics Foam Interlocking Exercise Gym Floor Mat Tiles - 6-Pack, 24 x 24 x .5 Inch Tiles (24 sqft) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0719B8HQZ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_N46M4HP3H3V3FE9R25JT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you have the space something like this is what I’d recommend Pet Playpen Puppy Playpen Kennels Dog Fence Exercise Pen Gate Fence Foldable Dog Crate 8 Panels 24 Inch Kennels Pen Playpen Options Ideal for Pet Animals Outdoor Indoor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KS45BWN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3RZ7790DAY516M78G6ME. It will take up a decent amount of space in a bedroom but it’s a good way to litter box train your bun and eventually set them up to be free roam if you want to do that
Hi there. If you have a dog maybe it would be good to put your bunny in a dog pen or maybe bunny proof one room if you can.
It’s several of these sets put together. There’s a few different manufacturers, but they all seem to fit together.
I suggest this
Now seeing him up close definitely not a dutch rabbit he might be a Rex, get him some toys wooden preferably but a stuffed toy would be nice too to keep them company rabbits like to hide so something like this: ZIUZOY Guinea Pig Hideout,Warm Small Bunny Bed,Cozy House Bed for Bunny/Chinchilla/Ferrets/Hedgehog/Sugar Glider,Large Sleeping House Warm Fleece Hideout,Guinea Pig cage Accessories. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SMCDVLB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Y3ZXJEWB4K3XJ3MN4TXE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 or one made of grass.
I uselittle remedies . I give him 1 mL every hour for three hours. If the gas meds don’t help by dose three then it probably won’t help but buns can’t OD on it so there’s no danger in giving more. For force feeding I give critical care. I would advise against baby food or anything other than critical care because that’s the only thing vets use/doesn’t have things that would cause gas like sugar. CC also has essential vitamins that can keep bun going until he can eat on his own.
I recently purchased this one because it is shorter than others I could find. They seem to love it. I haven't noticed any buildup or gunky grossness, but I've only had about 3 weeks and have been cleaning it once a week.

I hear u have a basement with hiding places. A cheap option to block this are these
you can put together however way u want to make a gate, and arent too pricy. Im not sure what to put on the hard floor besides investing in a rug or maybe throw blanket, but with space blocked off and soft floors your bun should be safe roaming around.
You’re welcome! My bun was like that around the 8 months mark back in February. He’s about a little over a year old now and now he loves hay! Before I would have to hand feed him hay and it would be a struggle but now we’re smooth sailing ever since Rabbit Hole Hay was recommended to me!
This is the link from chewy for the hay- https://www.chewy.com/rabbit-hole-hay-ultra-premium-hand/dp/140516?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=f&utm_content=Rabbit%20Hole%20Hay&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAjw-sqKBhBjEiwAVaQ9a_CeOJs091qTh-Qia48AMMmPlcKhGed2...
Took me a while, but his is the one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-Backpack-Grey-Small-Dogs/dp/B07W1WLGFH :D
It's very easy to transport our bun in trains and on bikes with it :) it also has a leash connector inside it, so we can attach it to his harness so we don't loose him :)
My little one loves this but if you search on rabbit enrichment toys you'll find tones of toys. The ones that makes them work to get a treat are awesome, you can even make you own toys like this. Tons of stuff on line.
You can take these wire cubes and rearrange them how you want, they are modular so you can construct whatever with them. Also great for creating a pen or sectioning the bun's area. For cords it's best to find some sturdy protectors (they come in spirals). For where you can't protect them (eg. computer) you can put a plastic shield (found at home depot or other stores). I would be also cautious of random plastic fibers, foam, sand that she can eat, as our bunnies sometimes nibble on some nonedible stuff and that can cause medical problems. If you have a carpet and she's interested to destroy it just make sure it's natural fibers or buy one as flat stitched as possible so she doesn't get the joy to destroy it.

Something like these ones. The padded ones are more common as they're used for baby proofing.
I bought a puppy playpen, far more affordable than rabbit advertised enclosures. I paid 40 in total, tax included. Imo it's big enough for my bun.
I got them from Menards - not sure where you’re located but it’s similar to Lowe’s and Home Depot
There’s a bunch of similar, equally cute ones on Amazon: like this one
C&AHOME Wire Cube Storage Organizer, 9-Cube Metal Grid Storage, Storage Bins Shelves, Modular Bookshelf, DIY Closet Cabinet Ideal for Living Room, Home, Office 36.6”L x 12.4”W x 48.4”H Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DMDW6G7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_-WLaGbHK4B7QW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Whilst I don't have bunnies with long fur, I use a paper based bedding that I find really good. It's definitely odour free, and doesn't disintegrate when it's wet - the paper pellets just expand so I can't see it getting stuck in fur. It is also biodegradable so I sometimes put the used litter in my compost heap! This is definitely heaps better than wood shavings or wood pellets which I've tried in the past.
I guess the snag to this is that it is significantly more expensive than other litters, so it could be quite expensive to cover a large area as you've mentioned your bunny isn't litter trained. I find that for two medium sized litter trays cleaned once a day, I use about 10L a week if that helps at all with working out costs.
The pink tube is here https://www.amazon.com/Tunnel-Central-Cashmere-Shaped-Diameter/dp/B076Q4PZ64/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Pink+cat+bed+tunnel&qid=1600437085&sr=8-3. My bun loves the tube
The fence, I dont remember but if you search for X pen you should find similar.
I got it off Amazon, it's the Iris playpen! It's a great product and he's got a little gate he can use. Plus, it's tall enough that he can't easily escape. https://www.amazon.ca/IRIS-Exercise-8-Panel-Playpen-Door/dp/B00JF5N3P0/
I think ideally bunnies should have their nails trimmed every 6-8 weeks, although this depends on if they have access to ways to keep their claws down (i.e. a dig box, concrete to run on etc). I got some of these from Amazon which I'll be using for the first time tomorrow, but when vets have cut my previous rabbit's nails, these style clippers are what they used.
With regards to keeping them calm, I think it depends on your individual rabbit and what you know calms them down (head pets, food etc). Probably the best way is to wrap them in a towel/blanket (ideally one they're familiar with), wrapped so you can take their paws out one by one, and it keeps them a bit more contained if they decide to wriggle. Ideally if possible, one person to hold the bun and the other to trim the nails. A local vet can normally also trim nails (obviously dependent on their Covid practices at the moment) and it doesn't cost much (~£8 in the UK) if you're really struggling.
