My brother bought me this book which had a lot of practice questions and detailed explanations. I mostly just needed it for math since I had forgotten how to do most things and they don't allow calculators. The reading part in my opinion was easy but every now and then they threw in some weirdly worded questions.
Reading consisted of questions like "what does the underlined word mean?", "Which of these statements best fits in the blank under the first paragraph", "which statement best describes the passage", or "what inconsistency can be found in the passage"
Math was just math. Refreshing my brain definitely helped though. If you can't get a hold of any practice questions, this YouTube channel has a lady going over and explaining some 2020 math questions from the cbest. Here's the playlist
I think I'll get my writing results in a few weeks. Everything was on computer, even the writing portion. Some places will allow you to write by hand but the testing center I went to had a broken scanner. Just review and you'll be okay :) worst case scenario is that you just run out of time... Like me lol I'll probably end up retaking the writing portion since I really don't think I passed. No biggy I suppose, just pretty costly is all...
I used this one and found it helpful: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0525568824
If you have a particular type of problem you don't get in an example somewhere then post it.
I used this book on how to learn to do them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0525568824
I didn't just review the material. I took notes and learned it. Conquering these tests is not about knowing what you read, but using strategy to beat their game and get the questions right.
I believe that would get you over the bar to pass. However, some school districts want to know your score and not just that you passed. I am wondering if they'll take that into account when selecting people for work.
I would reschedule for next month. I think you can do this with 24 hour notice without penalty. Then do some online prep or get a book like the Princeton Review: https://www.amazon.com/Princeton-Review-CBEST-Professional-Preparation/dp/0525568824
The book really helped me learn the tips and tricks to taking this test. Read the info and take practice tests reading the explanations for their answers.
