I got one of those from a gag gift shop growing up! Looks like you can get them on Amazon as well nowadays
Here's what I have--and what I used to take the photos in this post. I've been using it for a year now and it's a very nice entry level digital scope. I did have to use gorilla glue to stick the device to the platform--the suction cup just didn't stick for very long and becomes frustrating. Focus is manual but with coins you usually set it up and leave it at one setting for a long time anyway. No regrets at all.
In the upcoming year I want to upgrade to something nicer now that I am better at recognizing coin varieties. Maybe I'll try to find something with optical zoom.

I would maybe try this US coin guidebook. Cross referencing with recently sold Ebay listings?
Tbis was my fav one. They have one book for the national parks one book for the states and they have spaces for d and p mints and a few spots for w mint that were put into circulation. I also did a wheat penny book from warmans while I was at it. Enjoy your run

Size and position of the mintmark. If the mint mark is above the center of the bidding and bigger than normal it is silver. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_value_of_a_1942_US_nickel
The pics you have, the sheen of the coins looks like they are non silver. Edit: phone typing sucks
That’s a shit load of coins. I advise to store in plastic tubes like this and organizing them by year. I think thats the best way. IMO
If you want some extra fun, get a dime book and try to fill it out.

I have a loop, but I just purchased this on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L7Y28P1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details works with your phone or computer and uses the power from the device. I'd recommend a different stand, but you can make the one that comes with work. If you get a loop I'd recommend one with LEDs.
Maybe get a folding hand cart?
Plugable USB Digital Microscope. I use this and it works great. You can use the downloadable software or the windows camera software (already in windows). Only downside is that the suction cup can be finicky sometimes.
Nice :) Have you looked into getting a penny album? https://www.amazon.com/dp/0307090000?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. It's a lot of fun to try and collect all the years and mintages, and you get to see how many were minted. They have them for wheaties and basically all coin varieties out there
If you want to really get into this hobby, start off with a cheap and effective microscope. This is the one I use, it's $40. It will get you great pics for posting on here.
There are little metal punch sets. Something like this

I was a little off on the specs but this is the exact one I use.
I don't reroll my coins, I use a free coinstar at my local credit union because I think my time is worth more than what it would take to wrap everything back up. however, sometimes I use this blue layout fluid to spray a few thousand coins at a time and see when they show up in circulation again too get an idea of how large the total pool of coins in my area looks like.
Also you can zoom in the scope and take a bunch of connected pictures and put them together as one big picture with this:
http://matthewalunbrown.com/autostitch/autostitch.html
The free demo version should be all you need. Just select all of the individual pictures and it will spit out the combined one. It defaults to putting the end result on your desktop but you can change that in settings.
I wanted to share this composite photo that I took with a "pluggable usb microscope" and stitched together with http://matthewalunbrown.com/autostitch/autostitch.html Thanks u/LulzTopKekker for the suggestion and instructions!
Bonus: Scroll down in the imgur album for a bonus 1964 Quarter that I found about two weeks ago.

Thank you! I'm looking for something more like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MMJ3BGW. I am having trouble finding out what type of plastic is used. I don't want to use anything that can damage the coin like PVC.
I'd like to upgrade to something a little heavier like this one by Celestron that won't slide around on my desk as much. More expensive scopes will allow you to adjust magnification with a knob instead of having to bend the adjustable neck to get closer to the coin in order to change magnification. This one even has an LCD screen on it which is pretty cool. I have no idea how good or bad these ones are though--but they did catch my eye.
Get a box of nickels and a Littleton LCF25 folder (1938-1961) and see how much you can fill. Aside from the chance of silver (1942-1945) you can also find foreign and buffalo (and the very rare V nickels).
If you’re looking for a scale, here’s the one I use. It’s cheap, pocket sized, and works well:
I am cheap, so the folders by Harris should work good, includes both D and P. Out of stock on amazon, but you can find some that are similarly priced on ebay.
Most of my collection is in 2x2 flips, but I also have some coin capsules. I have a large plastic box made to hold most of my flips, and I also bought these sheets that fit inside a three ring binder. I like my binder a little better as it’s easier to see and show off what I have.

Still a handy reference if you can pick them up at a good price. There is a new version of Strike it Rich.. Just hasn't been released yet that I know of. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1440249008/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_C67rFbQ6BG3PC

I bought this one and love it, but there may be cheaper ones just as good. This one comes with rechargable battery and a weight to help you zero it out.
U know, for future collections I I would recommend the thicker sealed Whitman books and you can add pages, take pages out and the coins are sealed in with coin grade plastic so they don’t fall out. Plus you can see the backs. Here is a amazon link to the Lincoln penny one which I have. I also have they type set, the Washington quarter book, the Roosevelt dime book, the Indian head book and the buffalo nickel book. (There a bit more money but way worth it)

I went through a few visits where tellers didn’t give me enough wrappers so I broke down and bought some on Amazon. I like the Coin-Tainer brand flat wrappers. I now have boxes of 1000 each of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The boxes cost about $10 but they will last me quite a while.
I don’t do half dollars that often so I got 2 orders of 100. Half dollars are fairly easy to roll in the flat wrappers.

I think these are some of the better quality thin ones on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Grease-Monkey-Nitrile-Mechanics-purpose/dp/B07K38Y41L/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?keywords=rubber%2Bdipped%2Bgloves&qid=1576336940&sprefix=rubber%2Bdipped&sr=8-9&th=1&psc=1
Hope the link is ok, not an affiliate link. They’re $10 for 15 pair.

That is the one I prefer. There is also this one, https://www.amazon.com/Koolertron-Microscope-Magnifier-Illumination-Intensity/dp/B016ICHOQ6/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=HGH89Q6RURKC&keywords=plugable+2.0+digital+microscope&qid=1556128738&s=gateway&sprefix=Plugable+2.0%2Caps%2C182&sr... . The second is better and more powerful with higher res, but more expensive.
I have been getting them from the bank, I bought the Roayl Sovereign 4 row Electric Coin Sorter https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Sovereign-Technology-Advancement-FS-44P/dp/B00C3WSZQY and it goes so much faster with the one end crimped and that's what I was hoping for. I have been reusing as much as I can to be responsible. I'll just do the sharpie thing for now. The automatic wrappers are crazy expensive, but the 4 row sorter (got as a store return for $33.50) saves so much time. Thanks for the input
It's this but the 4 row. It's not bad. I bought a cheaper one and just couldn't handle the jamming. I really want the $500 crimping box. But I'm going to wait a few months before I decide to spend that much. I'm reopening my store and was thinking of buying it for customers to use.

This isn't the exact one I ordered, but it sure looks the same.

It is a pretty portable one that has a little nub that zooms in close enough to see the mint mark and the year, even if it is pretty corroded. Turned out a lot more helpful than I would have thought.
They probably thought you meant with the money inside it - or to try and steal the casino's money somehow. You could just buy this one.
i got it in a set from amazon:
its the ".30 cal M19A1 empty can with 10 x 3.5 x 6.5 " one
fits penny rolls snug as a bug, should be x/posted to /r/oddlysatisfying
Two books are on my shelf now:
The Official Price Guide to Mint Errors, 6th Edition by Alan Herbert.
The Error Coin Encyclopedia, 4th edition by Fred Weinberg and Arnold Margolis. (Out of print)
If you do any amount of CRH, this will save your neck and back, plus the ability to take precision pics of your coinage. There's ones as cheap as $15 on ebay.
I use that one. Quality is ok. Looks more adult without all the illustrations and graphics. It's a cardboard/paper backed folder.
